Summary rewrite needed
[edit]The summary is in a desperate need of being fleshed out a bit more. It's very difficult to follow and doesn't do a very good job of explaining the plot to someone who has not read the book. Even after having watched the film, I had to keep guessing what the author meant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:73:AF0A:A614:10C8:6CC9:90F5:3BD4 (talk) 16:50, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Japanese version
[edit]I would like to see if a source describes the Japanese version, but https://core.ac.uk/download/46512002.pdf (what I found so far) just lists it like a directory WhisperToMe (talk) 02:04, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
Possible journal article?
[edit]I found:
- Lobova, A.A. "Women's issue in Su Tong's novel "Wives and Concubines"". RUDN Journal of Studies in Literature and Journalism. 29 (1). RUDN University: 84–92. doi:10.22363/2312-9220-2019-24-1-84-92. - Profile page
I don't know if A.A. Lobova is a faculty member of Lomonosov Moscow State University or if she has another affiliation.
While the journal article uses the name "Wives and Concubines" (direct translation of the Chinese title) for the book, it uses "Coral", "Lotus", etc (the translated names of the English version instead of transliterated names like Meishan, Songlian, etc) WhisperToMe (talk) 06:15, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
