NPOV tag

[edit]

The NPOV tag has been up for 6 months, but the complainer hasn't done any of the things recommended in the NPOV dispute process:

From the NPOV dispute page:

  • If you come across an article whose content does not seem to be consistent with Wikipedia's NPOV policy, use one of the tags below to mark the article's main page. [DONE]
  • Then, on the article's talk page, make a new section entitled "NPOV dispute [- followed by a section's name if you're challenging just a particular section of the article and not the article as a whole]". [NOT DONE]
  • Then, under this new section, clearly and exactly explain which part of the article does not seem to have a NPOV and why. [NOT DONE]
  • Make some suggestions as to how one can improve the article. [NOT DONE]
  • Be active and bold in improving the article. [NOT DONE]

Six months have passed and the complainer hasn't done those things. As the NPOV dispute page says:

"Everyone can agree that marking an article as having an NPOV dispute is a temporary measure, and should be followed up by actual contributions to the article in order to put it in such a state that people agree that it is neutral." [...] "repeatedly adding the tag is not to be used as a means of bypassing consensus or dispute resolution. If your sole contribution to an article is to repeatedly add or remove the tag, chances are high that you are abusing your "right" to use the tag."

Based on the above, I'm removing the tag. If anyone wants to replace the tag, that's fine, but as the guidelines suggest, you should be prepared to actually do something constructive, not just abusive 'drive-by' tagging.
