Intro wording[edit]
I have edited the introductory paragraph to conform to general Wikipedia standards; it is common across articles to begin with something like "article subject is an X," rather than saying "is known for...", which many editors consider to be something of a peacock wording. Also, the original wording, "best known for his interest in language as a means of communication and a vehicle for storing and presenting information," is not very informative, as that is pretty much the definition of language and could describe almost any linguist in almost any field. Anyway, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave me a message. Best, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:28, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
