Found a link to a 1979 article about whats-his-names's inductions. It has a couple of poor quality photos. http://www.sicc.sk.ca/saskindian/a79may02.htm Dowew 01:30, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can add that. Thanks. Dowew, could you copy edit this? I want to send it to WP:FAC again. Zach (Sound Off) 01:43, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I did a little but I think I have read this page too often to have a fresh eye. I do think however that the Alan Eagleson section needs to be beefed up when compared to Ashnekew. I have added in an image of a book about Eagleson...so unless you can find an image of Eagleson with the Order I think maybe the section should at least be expanded to be as large the image. Dowew 04:14, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I could find little to no pictures of Eagleson, or pretty much anything related to Eagleson. Zach (Sound Off) 04:18, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I will look for some more stuff. For example here is now article [1]

  • [2] this article has gretsky not commenting

Also I have a major project due on Wednesday but after that I can do a search of the Toronto Star & The Globe & Mail, and probably the national post online to see if they contain any info...my University has subscribtions to their databases.

Turns out Eagleson was asked to resign from the Order but hired Michael Greenspan to fight it http://www.canoe.ca/HockeyEagleson/feb27_eagle.html Dowew 18:07, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Zach (Sound Off) 22:53, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Other Calls for Removal

[edit]

I found this article http://www.canadafreepress.com/2005/weinreb061705.htm which calls for Michel Biron to be removed from the Order, calling him a "Karla Homolka groupie".

I looked at the article, but while it was disgusted at the senator for his actions, but they did not call for him to be removed from the Order specially. The article mentioned that he will most likely have his Order intact when he passes away. I want the "others" section to be full of active campaigns to call for someone to get out of the Order. Zach (Sound Off) 06:57, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I also wonder, should Conrad Black be considered a call for removal ? It could be stated that some consider it wrong for Black to remain in the Order after her renounced his Canadian Citizenship. Dowew 18:05, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, we can add both in, as long as we have sources. Zach (Sound Off) 22:51, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I can't find anywhere about Conrad Black being called to resign so I guess we will leave it...I would think that they will strip him of it when he is formally charged and/or convicted in Britain/USA.
Also, I found an article about Conrad Black ( there is a link to it on the main page talkpage) It says that the government first authorized a "Canada Medal" in the 40's which was never used, as well the First Governor General wanted to create an "Order of St. Lawrence" which was never done...It also mentions the Medal of Courage. I think perhaps some changes to the creation section should be added. Dowew 02:05, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

whats his name getting the Order

I uploaded this photo from http://collections.ic.gc.ca/saskindian/a79may02.htm. It is owned by the Government of Canada which I would think make is Canadian Crown Copyright and therefor usable under Wikipedia. Dowew 02:26, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That is correct. Zach (Sound Off) 02:29, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Eagleson

[edit]

just skimming over McCreery's book and I think its important to note that Alan Eagleson took up the offer from the advisory Council to return his order of canada and resign, rather than having it terminated. This is on page 213 Dowew (talk) 19:17, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to add it, fine by me. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
