removing pop-punk
[edit]I think pop-punk should not be listed as a genre for this album because Billie Joe said his goal was to destroy that phrase. It's an oxymoron. It's punk rock, but with pop influences. that doesn't mean it's not punk rock. I'm removing itWikipageedittor099 (talk) 14:09, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- We don't go by what bands say for their genre, but rather, reliable, non-primary, sources, per WP:SUBJECTIVE. Unless some reliable sources (and sources not by the band) can be found that the album is a departure from pop punk (to outnumber the sources that call it pop punk), it should stay. Also, note that punk rock wasn't removed either, and pop punk was simply listed alongside it, so no one here is saying it's not punk rock. Also, the hidden note said not to remove a cited genre without consensus, and there's no consensus here. Kokoro20 (talk) 18:18, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Singles
[edit]The "singles" field in the infobox keeps going back and forth between listing "Revolution Radio", "Still Breathing" and "Youngblood" as singles and not listing them. This tends to be a common problem with albums released in recent years. Since singles are often hard to define today, I think we should gather a talk page consensus on whether or not to list any of those songs as singles. It is claimed that they are not listed as a single on Green Day's official site, but I can't the list of the singles there. But on the other hand, some reliable sources refer to "Revolution Radio" and "Still Breathing" as singles (but not so much "Youngblood").
I'm going to remain neutral for now. Please post your thoughts below. Kokoro20 (talk) 18:57, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- I don't know if the policy here is separate download = single or not, but "Revolution Radio" and "Still Breathing" are available as separate download singles on Qobuz, if that even matters. I'd imagine that they're just promo download singles, since the artworks are the same as the album's artwork, but let me know what you think. ([1][2]) Aria1561 (talk) 20:39, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Based on this link[3], Billboard mentioned "Still Breathing" as a new single, and it's charting on more than one radio chart now. Should we add that as a single to the infobox? Daerl (talk) 11:36, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. Billboard is a very high-quality source, and since it says the song is being released on the 12th as a single, we should add it. Kokoro20 (talk) 06:55, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm working on the page for "Still Breathing", and for those purposes I am considering both "Revolution Radio" and "Still Breathing" as singles. This is because of WP:SINGLE? saying that the Official Charts Company's "new releases" page provides "accurate release dates for songs released as singles"; because "Still Breathing" appears on the New Releases page for September 24, 2016, and "Revolution Radio" appears on the New Releases page for September 10, 2016, I am treating both songs as singles, where "Revolution Radio" was the second released and "Still Breathing" was the third. Deluxe editions
[edit]Is there any source for the alleged Deluxe/Cover/Rock Hall of Fame versions? This seems fake to me. I can't find a single source verifying these claims. If nobody can prove this (presumably upcoming?) tracklist is real I'm going to remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EmiliustheGreat (talk • contribs) 02:36, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
