Why is his religion at the top?[edit]

Looked up Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán and Pablo Escobar. No mention of their religion in the body of the article, much less at the top. Why the double standard for Sackler? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Olenick (talkcontribs) 22:31, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Sackler's role in furthering and profiteering off of the opioid crisis must be mentioned in this article. Preferably in the lead. Shadybabs (talk) 15:23, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Natureium (talk) 15:24, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Take a look at my addition. Seem intuitive to mention the controversial nature of the company in a sentence. El_C 15:30, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In an attempt to pressure the release of a video of a deposition of Richard Sackler in 2015, John Oliver, the host of the HBO series Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, set up a website, www.sacklergallery.com, whereby actors such as Michael Keaton read lines from the deposition. This, and the extent to which Richard Sackler, Purdue, and their drug OxyContin have contributed to the opioid epidemic in the United States was the main topic of a show entitled Opioids II. 103.252.203.131 (talk) 03:26, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

Is anyone aware of a public domain picture of this guy that can be featured in the article? Can one screenshot his deposition and add it?69Avatar69 (talk) 20:59, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've uploaded an image that can be used here copyright-wise, at File:Richard Sackler deposition screenshot.jpg. It still needs to be cropped, though. twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 23:38, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hasn't the deposition been released?[edit]

This is probably the most comprehensive biography of R. Sackler currently available and it contains significant revelations not currently in the article. -- GreenC 15:46, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Netflix Show[edit]

The Netflix show should not be mentioned in the first paragraph - given the amount of media produced about the Sacklers, the Netflix show is not unique and does not deserve a distinguished at the top of the article 67.243.139.235 (talk) 04:15, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@67.243.139.235 Agreed, it also prioritises one fictional depiction over others (e.g. Dopesick [1]) Brocagh (talk) 21:58, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There's also a docuseries on hulu called Dopesick with Micheal Keaton and on Netflix The Pharmacist — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:A2B0:1010:6319:2435:5C8B:1294 (talk) 18:41, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
