That's not actually Robert Reed in the photo![edit]

It is in fact Scott Edelman, accepting a Hugo on behalf of Reed. You can see the proof of this at http://www.robertreedwriter.com/frombob.html At http://www.robertreedwriter.com/ there are actual pictures of the real Robert. Does anyone want to upload one? I'm not sure how to do it... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.92.80.155 (talk) 14:49, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, per a posting on Scott Edelman's blog, this is a photo of Scott Edelman accepting the Hugo for Robert Reed. Given that, I have boldly removed the photo from the article. - Dravecky (talk) 02:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Edelman, Scott (August 2, 2009). "I Am Not Robert Reed". Failing Better.
This same picture of Scott Edelman appears to have been re-added. And it's not even a good picture of the wrong person.72.49.132.1 (talk) 01:15, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to original text of Lead In section[edit]

I changed the phrase "...his works regularly appear in Asimov's, Interzone, and Fantasy and Science Fiction" to "...his works regularly appear in Asimov's, Fantasy and Science Fiction, and Sci Fiction" as the author hasn't been published in Interzone since the April 2000 issue, though the original statement was accurate at one time.

He's published six stories at Sci Fiction, appearing there in five of the last six years.

I should also note that the entries dated 21:48, 2 July 2005 and 22:57, 2 July 2005 were also by me. I had thought I was still logged in, sorry.

Deleted notations, 18:31, 10 July 2005[edit]

When this page was originally set up, the list of stories was copied-and-pasted from an earlier format of Reed's page at the ISFDB. Three of the stories had text ("[Reviews]" and "[Synopsis]") that was originally hyperlinked, but was here just plain text. Two more had the notes "Originally published at Sci Fiction", but since no other publications were specifically noted, I removed them as well. I'll add links to the fiction that's (legally) available online.

Dewikification of the bibliography[edit]

Having every short story wikilinked in anticipation of articles being written seemed a little optimistic, as not all of them are notable enough to need an article, and none of the ones that are have one yet. Giving them all equal weight probably doesn't help readers, not that the way it is now necessarily helps them either. I've left the links in place for all those nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards, those set in the Marrow and Sister Alice universes, those in in his "Amerindian" series, the title stories of his collections, and a few other notables. The Sister Alice stories would be best handled in an article on the book, and might end up as piped links rather than redirects. Perhaps it would be more frugal to handle the Marrow short stories and "Amerindian" series in single articles as well. Aitch Eye 02:56, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography[edit]

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. Feel free to continue.
