Article title

[edit]

Should this article be titled Roger Andrew Taylor? I ask because I recently moved Roger Meddows-Taylor to Roger Taylor (Queen), per a move request that cited this article as a precedent, but my move was reverted right away. Thus, I wonder if it would be appropriate to name this article with a similar format. -GTBacchus(talk) 15:10, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was at Roger Andrew Taylor until last November, when Necrothesp moved it, and no one objected. I've always thought the (band drummer) disambiguator would be better in this case, as very few people are going to look them up by or link to their birth name and are always going to end up at a disambiguation page, but a consensus hasn't been hashed out properly. The RT articles were originally created at (band) in...2003? Someone decided full names was a better disambiguator, and it remained that way for several years.
Similarly fellow Duran member was created at John Taylor (Duran Duran), then moved to Nigel John Taylor where it awkwardly remained (no one but his parents calls him Nigel). Mike Selinker moved it to John Taylor (bass guitarist) in February, as it's usually preferred to use a disambiguator that describes the person's profession (which would make Roger Taylor (Queen) rather funny).
However, Roger Taylor (drummer) is obviously problematic...it would have to be Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), I think. Perhaps discuss it further at Talk:Roger Meddows-Taylor, or bring all three up at Wikipedia:Requested moves and get more of a consensus? — Catherine\talk 16:09, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Quality

[edit]

This article is terribly written. In some areas, the tenses switch rather liberally, and in other areas, it reads like a tabloid calendar. 154.20.157.6 08:29, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Naming conventions

Read the second bullet point in this part of WP:NC. Then see my post on the NC talkpage. LOL! --Jubilee♫clipman 01:30, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Terrible picture

[edit]

This article could arguably be better without the photo. David (talk) 20:06, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you can't even tell it's Roger. Come on, with as many Duranies as there are out there, sure one of them would submit a pic to Wikipedia. 24.211.215.187 (talk) 18:49, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A better (yet grainy) picture here. Richard Wolf VI (talk) 01:33, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the quality of the old photo (File:Roger Andrew Taylor.JPG) is atrocious- it's useless for its intended purpose as Taylor is totally unrecognisable. (That's not a criticism of the original it was cropped from where Roger was a small detail in the background).
Anyway, I replaced it with File:Roger Taylor Crop at SxSW.jpg, but File:Roger_Taylor_Bogota_2008.JPG is also available- a crop of the "grainy" photo Richard Wolf VI mentioned above. Which one does everyone think is more suitable? Ubcule (talk) 20:50, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
