Rong Wongsawan is a major figure in Thailand. He is well-known here as a result of his writing which is also recognized with a "National Artist Award" in 1995 (as indicated on the Wikipedia page for that subject--though the name is transliterated there differently).

Likewise there are already approved Wikipedia pages about Rong Wongsawan in Thai and Dutch.

Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --TonyWaters (talk) 09:34, 29 July 2019 (UTC) Rong Wongsawan is a major Thai literary figure, although he did not publish in English. He was notable enough for an obituary in The Guardian of UK, and there are already Wikipedia pages in Thai and Dutch. He was also awarded the 1995 "National Artist Award" in Thailand, as indicated on the Engish language Wikipedia page in that language (Note his name is transliterated into English differently on that page).[reply]
