Where are the citations

[edit]

Considerable work has been done on this page and there don't seem to be many sources cited. How can we be sure any of this is accurate? If the first sentence is anything to go by I suspect it's not entirely accurate. The first sentence for states Rowner is "set in 200 hectares of woodland known as The Alver Valley Country Park." but a cursory look at a map of Gosport shows this is not the case. Unless citations are provided I propose to revert back to the version of the page from 28th February. Marksyuk (talk) 21:03, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Set in" may have been the wrong phrase to use, the Alver Valley Country Park is in Rowner, as is The Wildground Nature Reserve. All the facts were researched thoroughly and if your intention is to doubt what I had up, then the facts were easily researched. Whilst I unfortunately don't understand entirely how I go about referencing things, I do know how to research and to write. The "set in" bit of my work was all that was wrong with that piece. You also took down my photos, photos I personally had taken, why? The photo of the row of shops you have up at the moment is such an outdated view of the village. Locals are trying to change the way the village is perceived by looking at what are the village's best features. The 17th Century Village, the Alver Valley, the Wildgrounds, the motte and bailey are there to be enjoyed, and should be given a prominence on any Wikipedia entry. Please tell be in plain English how I can get as near to my original text back up, including how to reference. You ask below whether The Alver Valley Country Park should be a separate article, and I believe there should be a separate page yes, but then an explanation of what it is should also be on the Rowner page, with a link. It is unfair not to be able to promote what the village has to offer in a proper article. Lisandrew (talk) 17:28, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. You'll have noticed that there's a new page for [Alver Valley Country Park] so best to put those citations in there. Marksyuk (talk) 14:05, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've been notified that the page containing the text that was removed from Rowner has now been reassigned to draftspace. Citations would be needed before it can be published, but the text remains. You can find it in Draft:Alver Valley Country Park Marksyuk (talk) 21:06, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Should Alver Valley Country Park be a separate article?

[edit]

Much of the introductory section is more relevant to Alver Valley Country Park than Rowner. The country park is a relatively small part of Rowner and mostly uninhabited. Marksyuk (talk) 07:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Took the liberty of creating a new page for Alver Country Park and moved that text there. Marksyuk (talk) 11:28, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
