Bias

[edit]

There are big problems with the article because it no longer describes the sentiment of the sources it supposedly represents. User:Ronggy (not affiliated with Roy Ngerng, the person who this article is about) has added a broken link and a link to his own personal web page as a source for "critical response" to Ron Ngerng. He also did original research and concluded that Roy Ngerng's homosexualty is a reason to be "suspicious" of Roy Ngerng's motives. He/she ha rewritten the rest of the article in a very biased and confrontational way. I urge some senior editors to add their opinion. To me it seems like User:Ronggy is trying to push an agenda. 93.136.71.23 (talk) 09:53, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a link to the changes he made. He deleted previous content, turned it into an opinion piece, used qualifiers like "desparate", quantified his own opinion blog post as "other people's response" and tried to cast that as "fixing" the article. 93.136.71.23 (talk) 09:59, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained mass removal of content

[edit]

Ngerng is notable for 3 things thus far, which can be easily seen by a google search on his name and see the hits it triggers; his infamy due to the suit, his NMP nomination, and his role in the "Return Our CPF rally. The recent edits have 1) removed a lot of researched and sourced details about the suit 2) removed mention of the NMP nomination and 3) mention of his role in the Return Our CPF rally. I'm taking the plunge and reverting to the last version where all 3 were included. Please edit/copyright from there. Zhanzhao (talk) 11:16, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Revamp

[edit]

I believe some parts of his biography are too detailed and can be summarized, and I've cut and rephrased here and there. Some of its sources probably do not meet WP:RS as well. I am not sure whether mothership.sg is reliable, but at least it has registered under the Broadcasting Act. But definitely if things are covered by mainstream media sources, then mainstream media is the priority. Tag recent editor Zhanzhao. starship.paint ~ regal 07:50, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date

[edit]

I don't see sources for his birth date. Hilariously, the date in the lead and the date in the infobox were different! Now reflecting what a reliable source (AFP) wrote... 33 on 7 November 2014. starship.paint ~ regal 06:16, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There were conflicting reliable sources saying he was 33 or 34 from October 2014. This source says both. So I cited an earlier source (33 in July 2014) before any such conflict. starship.paint ~ regal 06:04, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
