Track Record on each season. (Including International Versions.)[edit]

Recently, the track records on each version of Drag Race and other spin-offs have been edited, and I personally think they should be reverted because now the specific details cannot be seen placement-wise.

I agree. Because of the contestant progress edit, queens that have had many "highs" on the show are discredited by the vagueness of just "safe". For example Jinkx Monsoon and Bianca Del Rio have both had extremyly successful streaks and the former contestant progress table reflected that, but now their track records just seem basic, average and not worthy of winning the season at all. The opposite of this works for the sake of my argument too, queens that placed low a lot on their season like Miss Fame who fell in the bottom three four times total, but her track record is now safe until her elimination. Or Nina West, whose two wins seem like a great track record, but that's because the table doesn't show three of her low placements. Or probably the best reason to bring the old table back, Brooke Lynn Hytes who has always gotten critiques, meaning she was never just the white color safe. This is ruining the track records y'all. Sure, highs and lows are technically safes, but the Drag Race fandom has always taken these placements into consideration while debating track record. Bring the old contestant progress table back, for the real fans of the show. I don't think we should make the table easier for people who don't understand or haven't ever watched the show. Completely agree. I don't think the highs and lows can really qualify as "original research" as each episode has a very similar format in terms of placements (white color safes usually declared first, then highs and wins, and the last person declared safe before the bottom two is usually the low), and there is always a consensus that is reached on Wikipedia and the fandom page. The framing around the HIGH/LOW thing as just a fandom issue is truly ridiculous. This is how the show works, as how most reality competition shows function. Contestants being in the top/bottom consistently, even if they aren't winning or bottom 2, is a huge part of said contestant's storylines and is fully explored within the show, and to not capture that in the progression charts makes them less comprehensive and representative. 2A00:23C6:8281:A501:9E6:7953:D608:399D (talk) 15:24, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree, during the show the queens regularly discuss their own "high" and "low" placements in particular challenges. Being "in the top" (even if not winning the challenge) is seen as a valid and impactful position throughout the show. The wiki ought to reflect this. Narbac (talk) 11:26, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Completely agree, especially since the episode descriptions contain information on who received positive and negative critiques Maxine McKeown (talk) 19:31, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think we should attempt to fold this into the parent article. The list is far too long. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:03, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer, do you think it has merit as a standalone article or list? ~Kvng (talk) 14:12, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think so, though I'm not sure the list is ready for main space yet. I like the list of lip syncs in particular, and there's definitely a discography associated with Drag Race. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:16, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we could merge this draft with the Rusical article and make a more general "Music in RuPaul's Drag Race" article? We could also include a list of the runway songs and ending themes too.Gagaluv1 (talk) 13:48, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer, what is the problem with just moving this to mainspace now and dealing with any deficiencies an proposed reorganization from there? I like to get stuff out of draft space as soon as practical as it is unlikely to be worked on until it gets to mainspace. ~Kvng (talk) 14:51, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kvng I've never said the list should be kept in draft space. I have no history with this list, I just didn't want to see a merge into the parent article. Feel free to move into main space and let's see if editors improve further! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:53, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer, among other things, you said I'm not sure the list is ready for main space yet so I didn't want to move it without checking with you first. ~Kvng (talk) 15:05, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kvng The list is incomplete and severely under sourced, but editors can flag and address issues in the main space, or not. Thanks for double checking and sorry for my back and forth! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:08, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft has been moved to RuPaul's Drag Race discography. I invite page watchers to improve further, thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:47, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Image of Jaida Essence Hall[edit]

Just noticed that Jaida Essence Hall is the only main season winner to not have an image in the series overview section on this Wikipedia page. Seems like an unfortunate oversight to me. I've actually edited wikipedia before without an account and made an account right now to help fix this. Only problem is I've learned while trying to do this that adding images to wikipedia is much harder than I thought due to copyright issues. Does anyone have any advice about how to find an image of Jaida Essence Hall that would be suitable to use here?

Pumpkin07302020 (talk) 16:38, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I got this sorted out, got a lot of help from the chat about how to find an image that is allowed so thank you to everyone, and thanks to Darin Kamnetz on Flickr who opened up his images to be CC so they could be used here. Pumpkin07302020 (talk) 15:18, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Qween![edit]

Should this article mention Hey Qween! ? The talk show seems to be affiliated with Drag Race, especially since moving to WOW. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:54, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Miss congeniality format[edit]

The article doesn't explain how the winner of miss congeniality is decided. I am guessing that the contestants that reach the final of the main competition are ineligible to win Miss Congeniality because nobody has won both the main competition and Miss Congeniality.
