Is there a source for Sherry Pie being 4th/5th?
The reasoning is there, but there is no source that states that this will be considered a placement for Sherry. It could just as well to be argued that she won't be recognized officially as placing in the season and all the other queens' placements go one spot up (Disclaimer: I'm not saying that this should be done, just offering an example how Sherry placing 4th/5th does not automatically follow from her disqualification). Besides, with one competitive episode still to go, either her or other contestants may still be eliminated, which would affect her placing. Not A Superhero (talk) 04:58, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- I think we should refrain from making any speculations about her placement until the show clarifies that, which is why I reverted two instances of moving her to the bottom of the place-ordered contestant list. I notice now that the previous version I reverted to actually said 4th/5th, but I think it should still read "TBA" until we see what the show and RS ultimately say.
- I guess it's worth noting that in all other cases of non-standard exits from the competition (including the one previous DQ), the contestant still retained their place value:
- Willam's disqualification @ RuPaul's Drag Race (season 4)#Contestants
- Eureka's removal on medical grounds @ RuPaul's Drag Race (season 9)#Contestants
- Adore Delano quitting the competition @ RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (season 2)#Contestants
- BenDeLaCreme's self-elimination @ RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (season 3)#Contestants
- I see how Sherry Pie's case is different since the DQ came after filming was already over, but since we don't yet have any RS to objectively tell us what her official placement would be and because there is precedent to at least not move her to the bottom of the contestant list, I think we should leave her name in the order it's already in but also change her placement back to "TBA" for now. Armadillopteryxtalk 05:18, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, I see that while I was typing, Nihlus restored the TBA, which I agree with—thanks! Armadillopteryxtalk 05:21, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- Regardless if she is disqualified, she has progressed that far into the competition, and showing anything other than that would be dishonest and not an accurate representation of what took place. Nihlus 05:23, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, I see that while I was typing, Nihlus restored the TBA, which I agree with—thanks! Armadillopteryxtalk 05:21, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- Just to quickly add to this discussion, I think it is worth noting in this case that unlike previous instances of unconventional removals (specificially Willam's DQ), the show itself has gone out of its way to make sure the audience is aware Sherry isn't a contestant anymore. She's been edited out as much as possible, removed from all the show's social media posts and YouTube videos, not to mention the disclaimer that appears before every episode reminding the audience that she was disqualified along with additional disclaimers that she seemingly didn't receive prize money for the challenges she won. I agree it's a tricky situation edit-wise, and that putting her at the bottom of the list or not including her at all probably isn't the best way to go, but branding her 4th/5th place may not be the right move either. Just my two cents CuM00d —Preceding undated comment added 01:20, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Now that Jackie left at 5th place we can be sure that Sherry is 4th place and we can remove the red color from her name since she was basiically disqualified on episode 12 (it should be marked that way since it's the last episode she will appear on). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yviemike (talk • contribs) 02:36, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Another option is to just remove the placement and leave the names in alphabetical order. The chart only marks progress, not placement per se, so that would solve the issue. Kikikannibalfan (talk) 03:57, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

Sherry Pie disqualification description
"The contestant was disqualified from the competition after production was completed."
I don't have a strong opinion on whether Sherry Pie is placed in 4th place or last place or some other place. However, I don't think the above description is quite correct. Sherry Pie was disqualified after production of the first 12 episodes, but before production of episode 13 (reunion) and episode 14 (finale) was completed.
Could this be changed to something along the lines of "Sherry Pie was disqualified during production" or "Sherry Pie was disqualified prior to filming of Episodes 13 and 14?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.21.12.239 (talk) 03:50, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

Right now, the article reads As of March 6, 2020, a total of seven victims of Gugliemelli's alleged misconduct have come forward.
. It should be clarified that seven people have come forward "to Buzzfeed News". I also think the Queerty article[1] should also be included, as it mentions nine people who who came forward with their experiences (many of whom also spoke with BuzzFeed).

. I have cleaned up the article and updated the article in accordance with Episodes 13 and 14. I have not under any circumstances made any changes to the disputed content in the Contestant Progress table. The changes I made to the table such as adding "Guest"/"Runner-up"/"Winner" for Episodes 13 and 14 are not the disputed content under discussion. Amoung other changes I made was adding episode summary descriptions in line with the current consensus for Episodes 13 and 14 and added Ep 13 & 14 rows to the Ratings table. (Ratings/Share & Viewers say TBD because that information is currently not available.) Normally episode summaries do not need sources as the episodes themselves serve as sources but I added sources to Episode 14 because it includes a tribute to a producer who passed away to ensure WP:BLP is met. I was reading the confusion on how to format the Sherry Pie row in the contestant progress row and I think it would make more sense to still describe her as ‘safe’ as she was declared in the episode but the box colour could be changed to something different and this could be explained in the key below. As it stands the table in unclear as it suggests Sherry was disqualified in this episode however she was declared safe and disqualified after this episode was filmed. 80.5.187.149 (talk) 15:06, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

Or perhaps this to incorporate Sherry's disqualification? It's weird because the disqualification didn't occur on the actual episode but it feels more accurate than claiming that Sherry was SAFE and therefore moving on to the finale on episode 12 and the episode all but confirms her disqualification.

- I moved this here as time wise this discussion should be here. @Bleachies: It was always the intention to remove the dark color from Sherry's name and move it to the appropriate column that was her last episode and mark it with DISQ just like with Willam in season 4. I have a pending edit request below to update the page it is just waiting on an admin to review and implement it if they accept it. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:19, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
So the reason I had Jackie above Sherry is not to affirm that Jackie is 4th while Sherry is 5th, but because they were both effectively eliminated in the same episode so I just listed them in alphabetical order. I'm not especially invested in it being done either way (so I'm not going to edit war about it) but the Drag Race pages are usually consistent with alphabetical order. (Bleachies (talk) 21:18, 30 May 2020 (UTC))
Sherry Pie’s outcome
When Sherry was first disqualified, and we didn’t know she was going to make it the final four, there was some disagreement on how to mark her outcome in the competition. But since we now know that she made the final four, and that they proceeded to finale as though was never there in the first place. I think it’s safe to mark her “disqualified” and change all the other queen’s rankings to reflect a contest with only 12 queens, rather than mark her in “fourth place” out 13 queens. Any thoughts? Andrewjc2 (talk) 12:28, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
No because Sherry was in the contest. Instead of 4th Place it’ll say Disqualified

I think it would be good to change the format of the lip sync table for the final two lip syncs, as they were 3-person lip syncs. The Drag Race Thailand (season 2) page had similar lip syncs, and I think that pages format could be used here. Kirbymeteknightluigipeach (talk) 19:13, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

In the lipsync section, you could also include the Round 2 of the finale’s individual lipsync performances for the top 3; Crystal’s “I’m Like A Bird”; Gigi’s “Take One Me”; and Jaida’s “Get Up” Abby Marie Cole (talk) 08:49, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
- Done I added them but since this was a unique lip-sync and really hasn't been done before I was WP:BOLD with the formatting in the request. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 20:27, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Jaida Finale Lip Sync
The “Get Up” lip sync in the finale is Ciara ft. Chamillionaire. That should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.126.171.119 (talk) 23:09, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi guys, my suggestion is to use any of the pictures of Jaida at the season 12 premiere where she had a red gown and a pageant queen title imo she looked great that night! So it will look great on her main wiki page and also on the season 12 wiki page on the winner photo section. Also, on the drag race main wiki page on the series overview section there’s a mistake on season 9 since the crown that was given to Sasha wasn’t provided by fierce drag jewels. - Not done: Wikipedia is not somewhere to promote content. Unless there is a valid reason to change the image, such as it being outdated, it should not be changed. As well as that, you have not cited reliable sources to confirm the jewel makers for the crown. — Yours, Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 10:18, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Sherry Pie was disqualified, however under contestant progress is shown as 4th place. Due to her removal from the competition however, she did not receive this placement and this is incorrect. I would request her final placement be replaced with a DQ marker, and everyone below her be moved up one place as would be the case in any traditional pageant system removing a contestant for breaking decency/morality rules outlined before competing. 69.234.96.73 (talk) 06:51, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Suggestion for the results table
In light of the fact that SP wasn't actually disqualified in episode 12. I think the original table might be confusing. My suggestion is moving the cell to the columns for episodes 13/14, which is when Sherry was already DQ'd.

- @Kikikannibalfan: Pie's disqualification was address in Episode 12 but in the most minimalist fashion. Throughout the episode the queens talked about advancing to the "Top 4". Gigi won the challenge, Jaida was then declared safe followed by Sherry. RuPaul then told Crystal and Jackie before the lip-sync this was their last chance to impress her and move on to the grand finale. At that point it was planned for a "Top 4" in the episode and no amount of editing could change that fact. Crystal was then declared safe and Jackie was eliminated. RuPaul then says "Condragulations to my final four, who do you want to be America's Next Drag Superstar? Are you Team Crystal, Team Gigi or Team Jaida? Let your voice be heard using #DragRace!" So the disqualification was somewhat addressed, if Sherry Pie was eligible to win RuPaul would have said "Team Sherry" along with the other three queens but since she was disqualified after production completed they edited out RuPaul saying "Team Sherry" and that is obvious in how the episode was aired on VH1 and shown on VH1's website and its on-demand services. Because of this the table reflects Sherry as DISQ in episode 12 with a note in the legend about what happened. Sherry was completely absent in Episodes 13 and 14 so those cells should be left blank to reflect this. If this was a show that aired in near-real time like Love Island or in real time with live Internet feeds like Big Brother (both of these air on sibling CBS) then the situation would be different. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 00:22, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- I think it should go under Episode 14 as she technically made it to the finale. Nihlus 21:14, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Nihlus: If "DISQ" is put under Episode 14 for Sherry Pie in the Progress Table but the Episode summary table shows her disqualification was addressed in Episode 12 then it would cause the article to fail WP:VERIFY, WP:OR and WP:RELIABILITY because Sherry Pie was not mentioned at all during the Grand Finale in any way. It would also cause this article to potentially fail a WP:GAN review as that would be raised as a concern and would need to be justified with clear reliable sources not just a consensus based reasoning. Also other reality competition based shows that use this contestant progress table format always leave cells blank for when a contestant does not appear in the episode. It would cause potential reader confusion. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 23:13, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- I don't agree with that assessment. Contestant progress should indicate the she was not in the episode, yes; but it doesn't matter whether or not it was mentioned specifically in the episode. This is implied with the eliminated contestants as well. Her disqualification was not mentioned specifically in episode 14; however, it has been mentioned in every episode saying that she would not appear in the finale and that she was disqualified. So, she was scheduled to be in the finale, but was removed from the finale because of her disqualification. Therefore, her disqualification took place in/for the finale. "In light of recent developments and Sherry Pie’s statement, Sherry Pie has been disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Out of respect for the hard work of the other queens, VH1 will air the season as planned. Sherry will not appear in the grand finale scheduled to be filmed later this spring." Nihlus 06:30, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Nihlus: Maybe a better way to handle this would be recoloring Sherry's name as it was while the season was in progress, having Ep 12 say "Safe" with Ep 13 and 14 blank? This would better reflect how her situation was handled on the show. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 06:09, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Agree that the ‘disqualified’ should be under eps 13 and 14, and show her safe on ep 12. Also shouldn’t Dahlia have “guest” under all the eps where she appeared in the broccoli costume? 86.180.100.35 (talk) 12:55, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly there was a consensus to not able those appearances by Dahlia as "guest". I would have to double check the archives to be sure. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 06:09, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- Found it @ Talk:RuPaul's Drag Race (season 12)/Archive 1#Dahlia Sin - Guest. At this point a new discussion would need to occur with a change in consensus to occur to include those appearances. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 06:20, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
I had really thought that Sherry Pie should be listed as disqualified with episode 1. There is a disclaimer on before the start of the episode that explains she was disqualified. In the episodes where she was a winner of a challenge the winnings went to a charity. The charity they went to was at the end of the episode. wizbang_fl 07:09, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Low/High Placements
I’ve noticed three errors in the placements of the low and high contestants.
1. The main one, which I’ve seen discussed before but is still going back and forth, is rather the episode 1 queens should all be listed as safe (aside from the top 2) or we should define who was high and low. While the format by definition usually makes it obvious who’s high and low (because only a few of the queens are critiqued) every competing queen on the first two episodes are critiqued. Everyone was just called as safe rather than high or low, aside from the top two. For example, Heidi is listed as low despite many people believing she was one of the strongest and she was the last to be called as safe and not one of the top two.
TL;DR: the interpretation of who was high or low these episodes is completely subjective and everyone aside from Gigi, Widow, Sherry, and Jaida.
2. Gigi Goode was low for episodes 10 and 11 but is listed for safe for both.
3. Jaida should be high for episode 12 instead of just safe. She was the second to be called safe and had the best critiques aside from Jaida. Citrush0e (talk) 16:37, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
4. In Episode 11, Jackie should be considered safe, just like Gigi and Sherry. They all received positive and negative critiques. Jackie being called safe before the two others doesn't mean she deserves a high placement.
Since you deleted my original reply, I’ll say it again. How can you go on about episode 1 being ‘completely subjective’ and then go on to say who you personally think should be LOW, HIGH, or SAFE on other episodes without stating a valid source for your opinion? I would 100% say that is subjective. Billwebster91 (talk) 23:04, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Well first of all I didn't delete anything so I'm not sure where that's even coming from. In episode 10, why is Gigi the only one without a high/low placement? The format of the episodes is typically that they have a top three and bottom three, and for all the other seasons there's consistently nobody as cornsilk safe. Since Sherry, Jaida, and Crystal were all either high or won, Gigi would be low by default.
I'd agree with your point on Jackie and I would take that Gigi should be low for episode 11. Everyone except for Crystal, Jaida, and Heidi should be cornsilk safe.Citrush0e (talk) 02:39, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
My original reply disappeared so I assumed you had deleted it, apologies for the misunderstanding. As for the High/Low/Safe situation, just because it has typically been a top 3 and bottom 3 in previous seasons, it doesn’t mean it’s the same here. A clear bottom 3 were not called out in the episodes where there is no LOW placement, and it doesn’t make sense to have someone as LOW by default. If someone received mixed critiques and there was no bottom 3 announced, then the correct placement is a cornsilk SAFE. To have someone as Low when the critiques do not justify that placement does not make sense, and is purely subjective. Billwebster91 (talk) 04:05, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

- Thank you for stepping in here. While I can understand taking a drastic action to stop edit warring in place and to get everyone's attention, I wonder if this is the best approach. With every season of Drag Race, it seems that the section of the wiki article that gets the most attention is the Contestant Progress table. Edits continue to be made years after the season has ended (for example, the first season aired eleven years ago, but edits were made to the Contestant Progress table at that article as recently as last month). Clearly, this is an area where passions run high, but I would argue that the majority of editors are here operating in good faith to make constructive edits, at least since the previous semi-protection level was put into place. The fifteen edits identified as part of the edit warring above were made by only eight editors. Of those eight editors, five have received previous messages on their talk pages and/or have been blocked for prior instances of edit warring and making disruptive edits. Should these five editors know better? Absolutely. But I think it's clear that they're not going to stop their disruptive editing unless they are forced to. Would it be possible to take stronger action against these disruptive editors (maybe block their ability to edit Drag Race-related articles?) while allowing those that want to make constructive edits to do so? Yompi20 (talk) 15:53, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Woody:, Maybe For those editors a 3-6 month no edit-revert on BLPs broadly construed? Gleeanon409 (talk) 16:36, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Protecting the page rather than blocking 8 people should be the preferred course of action, at least initially. As far as I can see on this page, though please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't see a WP:CONSENSUS to have the table either way. You cannot develop a consensus through edit summaries. Have a discussion here, come to a consensus as to how the article should look and then move forward. If an editor keeps reverting against that consensus then they will be blocked. Woody (talk) 17:12, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Dropping my two cents here. I may be less versed on Drag Race than most editors here, and please somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the root of the problem is that there is no actual, reliable source for these placements and when a queen receives critiques but isn't the winner/bottom two, the difference between safe and high/low can be pretty subjective. Is that right? I think a consensus should be sought not in this particular talk page, but in the project's talk page so it can be applied to all the seasons with a consistent criteria. Otherwise we will be trapped in the same lack of consensus in all the seasons. BTW, Woody, thank you for your intervention. Sometimes a dispassionate eye is exactly what we need. Not A Superhero (talk) 05:00, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- The few comments that have been made so far would definitely seem to support that. If some form of MOS or at least a WikiProject discussion on what form they should take would be beneficial. It appears to me that unless the programme itself gives official designations or another source does, then they are subjective and wouldn't conform to our sourcing guidelines. Woody (talk) 12:22, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Well done @Not A Superhero: on starting this discussion: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject RuPaul's Drag Race#How can we make a consistent criteria for SAFE, HIGH and LOW placements? Woody (talk) 13:23, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Disqualification Color
So the disqualification color should be brown. It was brown for Willam on Season 4 for all these years since. It is brown for Miss Gimhuay on Thailand season 2, and should also be for Sherry Pie on this season. The color maroon is already being used for the quit on all stars 2 for Adore Delano. Also the removed color for Eureka on Season 9 needs to be changed. We shouldn't be resuing colors for different things to happen on the show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.183.100.236 (talk) 19:41, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Episode 1 Placements
There seems to be some disagreement on whether or not to mark queens as HIGH and LOW in episodes 1& 2.
The main argument I see against it is that "LOW implies the risk of elimination", which is wrong by definition: "[LOW] The contestant received negative critiques but was ultimately declared safe."
This is exactly what happened to Dahlia, Rock, Nicky and Heidi. They all recieved negative or mixed-to-negative critiques that episode.
The other argument I see is that the HIGH and LOW placements fo episodes 1 & 2 are subjective. LOW and HIGH placements themselves are still subjective past the Top 7 where they often aren't defined by a clear top or bottom 3, an example is Raven, Roxxxy and Raja still marked as HIGH for the ball despite technically being "bottom 3".
Even f LOW placements are no considered, HIGH placements by default should be listed for Jackie, Brita, Aiden and Jan in episode 1/2, just like they are for season 9. It makes no sense why they aren't. Wtrmln124 (talk) 13:48, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
