Both the pages for this one and for SS Deutschland (1900) claim this nickname. Was it really given to both? Both list conversion to smaller engines to counteract it. I suspect that this story only applies to one of them, and I believe it was the 1900 version, not the 1923, but I need to check. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 21:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Was just watching a documentary (A ticking Time Bomb-The Lethal Legacy of Wrecks from World War II) and it said this ship was partially blown up in the 1950s to salvage steel. Not raised and scrapped in 1949, as stated in this article. This article also does not list a source for the info that it was raised and scrapped.
