Is there going to be a train or not?

[edit]

I notice that there is a tag at the beginning of this article that says it needs updating, and it has needed such since October 2017. In fact, it is so outdated, that the only new source that has been added to the references section since 2009 was mine just now, and that was just me moving a link from the schedule section. In fact, I had to use the Wayback Machine to archive the first two sources! I have done some research into the Novotrén project, and I found an article from August 16, 2017[1] describing the project as "derailed", and another from July 2019 [2] announcing a new coach service by the company ALSA to replace the proposed train. I have some questions to ask. First, am I correct in assuming that the Novotrén project has been cancelled? Secondly, if I am, where did that "Q4 2022" thing in the infobox come from? Lastly, if neither my assumption of the cancellation of Novotrén nor the alleged 2022 due date is correct, when will it open? Please answer here, then help update this page accordingly. Thanks.

I almost forgot to add that I did a Google search [3] for all usages of the phrase Novotrén since January 1, 2016, and the only other lead I found is a RAND Corporation report from June 30, 2017[4] which seems to suggest that bus rapid transit is more cost friendly than the railcar of the previous proposal. Is that what it is? If so, it confirms what those other articles I cited said. SleepTrain456 (talk) 23:31, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So I searched and found a few more sources but it seems there is no train and it is no longer talked about, was not constructed and most likely will not be constructed.
So if there is no train.. .. what should be done with the article, in your opinion? Is the article kept as a planned project that never came to fruition or should it be marked for deletion? --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 01:38, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If there isn't a train, I think the article should be kept, albeit edited to make clear that the plan is not going to happen. SleepTrain456 (talk) 23:20, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
