Sangihe Islands to be merged to Sangihe Islands Regency. Most if not all mention of Sangihe Islands today referred to the area within the Sangihe Islands Regency, Sitaro Islands Regency is regarded as separate and does not need to be within the islands article, and the islands article should be merged to the regency article because it is more comprehensive and also basically the same scope if we remove the Sitaro Islands (which would be instead discussed in Sitaro Islands Regency) Nyanardsan (talk) 11:35, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose The traditional scope of the geographical term "Sangir Islands" always comprised the area of both regencies. "Sangir Islands" has somewhat fallen out of use in favor of "Sangihe Islands". This creates some confusion (similar to the case of Sumbawa and Sumbawa Regency), but nevertheless, this island group is not coterminous with the modern post-2002 administrative entity. –Austronesier (talk) 09:17, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
