TO CLEAR THINGS UP
Casey is NOT in any way part of this project and never ever in the history of this earth will be. READ about it right here: http://www.soadfans.com/Article561.htm and scarsonbroadway.com and myspace.com/scarsonbroadway
Casey was just part of the jam group Daron put together for whatever reason. Hope this clears things up. 216.8.134.178 (talk) 03:40, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
So when i search for "scars on broadway" i get nothing but a list of pages contatinging the words scars and broadway, however when i search for "Scars on Broadway" it brings me to the proper article. Maybe someone can do something so that i don't have to have proper capitalization to get to the article.--68.255.184.74 03:36, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I added the badly needed information about the involvement of Casey Chaos, as it is a joint project between the two and Casey sings on the demos while Daron plays guitar.--69.213.152.186 10:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- All this stuff about "spring", "winter", etc. is confusing - those seasons take place at different times in the southern hemisphere, and I for one always have to think for a minute about which months are involved (e.g. spring in the US is March, April, May, right?). There is always some confusion, anyway, about when seasons begin and end - at the start of the month, i.e. the 1st of March for spring? or at the spring equinox, i.e. about the last week of March? Can we be more precise - e.g. stating a month or saying "toward the end of the year", or whatever? Metamagician3000 13:41, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah or you could go read the wikipedia articles on the seasons, and stop beeing such a trogladite.68.255.187.47 16:49, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Whoever keeps deleting Casey Chaos as one of the band members, please stop it. This is as much Casey's project as it is Daron's.
- ok this is seriously getting rediculous. casey chaos started the band with daron. that means the project belongs to the two of them. whoever keeps deleting casey from the lineup, quit it. unless you can find an article with a direct quote from either of them stating that casey is no longer involved, i guess i'm going to haveto keep coming back here and editing it, becasue some of you find amusement in vandilisng articles on wikipedia.65.43.210.214 09:59, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Someone removed it again. Stop fucking removing his name, unless you have SOLID proof that he's not a part of the project. Hello2112 22:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- This isn't really complaining or adding anything to the discussion, but when did casey chaos become involved. Just curious, I thought it was Daron's project. and no im not the one deleting it, just a curious fan here. edit: nevermind, over read the line about it being started in 2003, any info is still appreciated. Plus why is SOAD's stuff on here...this is Scars...not SOAD. ChopAtwa 09:10, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Someone removed it again. Stop fucking removing his name, unless you have SOLID proof that he's not a part of the project. Hello2112 22:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, and was John Frusciante ever a part of the project? I kept seeing his name appear in the line-up, but no references. Hello2112 23:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted the SOAD thing a the bottom. They are not the same band so I thought it was not needed. And the last paragraph does not sound like a proper entry, more like something in an interview. If it was part of an interview I think that should be in quotations or something.Cameronrobson 21:29, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- About the template, I just added it for a reason I can't even remember now. Hello2112 23:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- The last two paragraphs need to be changed. I would do it but I can't seem to find much information on the band. Cameronrobson 18:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Casey thing
casey was part of the old project but not anymore. there's legal action bewteen Casey and Daron because of some copyright issues and its just impossible for Casey to be involved with the new band.
Another thing, Daron only confirmed 2 names, himself and Shavo, that according to many interviews (check SOADFans.com News section).
So, bottom line is Casey isnt included in the band, unless official statment come out from daron himself says that.
First, sign your comments, dammit. Second, thank you for clearing this up. Hello2112 23:04, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Should that casey copyright issue be added into the stub? It seemed like it would be there, but I guess not on account of Daron not confirming this. I don't know.Erikkuiv 03:03, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Casey was a founding member of the group, but should not be listed under current members. Casey most definitely should remain mentioned as co-founding the band. The name itself was given by Daron in referance to the many scars on Casey's body. As far as the legal action, I don't know if that's really the reason for Casey not being involved in the project anymore. I don't even think Casey knows the reasons for it. I don't think there's any need to mention it in the article, personally. As far as Casey and the AMEN camp are concerned, there are no hard feelings towards Daron or System, it's just a business thing that needs to be taken care of. Also, someone asked why System's stuff was on here... I didn't see what was on the article about System, but a lot of the songs from Hypnotize and Mezmerize evolved in some form from the original sessions with Casey and Daron, and more directly, the song B.Y.O.B. so there are some common threads musically--Refuse Winst 22:56, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
the group your thinking of is a DISBANDED side project from four years ago it has nothing to do with scars —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnrforever (talk • contribs) 18:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
look, the name had nothing to do with casey, it was form the Swastikas carved into street lights on this street daron once lived on, its in an interview and even in a song on the album... and alos i removed both the former members part bacuse as far as im concerned and band cant have any former members till their album is annunced for it comes out... Thanks Trigahapykila (talk) 23:43, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
The article doesn't read like an article should
I don't know the article is a little weird. It gives too much point of view and opinionation rather than that cold hard fact people want in a wiki. I think it should be fixed a bit but I don't know exactly in what way that's why I'm asking this: What do you think should be edited??? Erikkuiv 03:21, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Remove the last two paragraphs. They are incredibly biased. Hello2112 21:38, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- 'Kay, it's gone. It seems a bit better looking, so I removed the advertisement tag. it doesn't read like an advert anymore.Erikkuiv 02:13, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
under the former members area take casey and the others out of it because as of now there are no former members daaron and john have been the only confirmed members those ghetti blaster rehersals were NOT a part of scars so that was a diff project all together please remove them —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnrforever (talk • contribs) 18:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
More info needed
Someone needs to put more info into the article. I would, but I'm not exactly as filled in about the band as others are. Hello2112 19:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- The problem is, there isn't too much information to get it from. I think that when Daron and others decide to disclose this information in the near future, there should be some good stuff to get it from. I'd give it a few months, tops. Erikkuiv 00:42, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
They played at the wiskey club there were one or two more guitar payers there does anyone have an idea who they could be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.202.186.21 (talk) 01:32, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Logo?
There IS a Scars on Broadway logo out there. Go on SOADfans and go to Darons page and if you scroll down the SOB logo is right there. I can't get it because the Wiki don't work with pictures for me. So if someone could put it on to make the artical look better that would be helpful.
Shavo
Would you consider Shavo a former member, being he was confirmed as a part of Scars on Broadway for like half a year and then all of a sudden having nothing to do with it? FallenWings47 10:22, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
I added him. Anyone who disagrees feel free to delete it. 70.106.116.118 (talk) 04:30, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Countdown?
Theres a countdown on the main site now, whats that for and will it eventually be mentioned in the article? The countdown will end on March 27. Julez Nossy (talk) 23:07, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
You shouldn't be asking these types of questions on the discussions pages. There are many fan sites for that (i.e. SOADfans.com). No one really knows but people suspect it's for a song release. Burnedthru 01:03, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
I was wondering if it should be mentioned on the SoB page. Julez Nossy (talk) 02:20, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
The countdown... It just reset... It says 364 days left now. :s —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.235.137.6 (talk) 13:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Wow. what a rip off. --Insaneingus (talk) 19:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Deleted tension rumor
Sorry, but I deleted the rumor about Shavo not attending Scars' first concert due to tension between Daron and Shavo. No source. Not creditable at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnarsh (talk • contribs) 21:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Should Former Members Be Listed
Just because those three guys were going to form a band with Daron, doesn't make them former members. Daron said himself that that was a disbanded project and in no way shape or form is related to Scars on Broadway. I think we should remove them. 99.234.164.101 (talk) 15:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I've also heard that THAT project was the original idea of Scars on Broadway. (FallenWings47) 15:55, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
scars on broadway is just the name that daron came up with for whatever solo project he wants to do. i guess he wanted to do it in 2003 but did mezmerize/hypnotize first. apparently in that time he changed his mind about what kind of style he wants the project to be but it's still scars on broadway. this isn't 100% factual but it makes sense from what's known. 70.106.116.118 (talk) 16:09, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
I tihnk if you put your's and mine together, you have it. In 2003, he had plans to do it, and it was with Casey Chaos and those guys (this could possibly be when Serj was doing Serart) and then plans just fell through or something. Now, since they're on hiatus, Daron decided to pick it back up, but with the current variations. Does my theory makes sense? FallenWings47 16:13, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
story behind the name
[1] <== Daron gives a really good explanation of the name there but i'm not sure where it would fit in the article
The foundations of the band’s name is a somewhat artistic creation. Malakian takes his time to explain the story of how the words and the meaning differ in relevance, yet merge through a unifying of the music. He says: “I got the name from these light posts. Where I live - the light posts have swastikas engraved in the design. It’s something that if you lived in the city I live in when you went to high school you’d always hear kids talk about it. And they’re on Broadway. Their kind of scarred into the (posts), which is how I got the name.”
Adding a Management category to the template
Since the templates are protected, for music artists, is it possible to add another category for management companies similiar to the one for Labels? Ivygirl16 (talk) 17:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Broken Up
I've heard from some reliable sources that Daron quit the band about 2 weeks ago, and they will announce their break up soon, but I can't find my link, does anyone have this?? (Gravediggerfuneral (talk) 01:13, 9 October 2008 (UTC))
- According to wikipedia; if you don't have a reliable source; it didn't happen. - -The Spooky One (talk to me) 01:24, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Actually Dominic said it's basicly done in an interview at SOADfans.. 216.8.173.128 (talk) 22:23, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
The article with Dom states that he hasn't heard a peep since the tour was canceled. That's not an official "We broke up". Dominic is also not an official member of the band. Until Daron or John come forward and state that it's over, that article on SOADfans meant nothing. Magnarsh (talk) 15:29, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I put Malakian and Dolmayan back on the current members list. They have not announced a breakup. Until they do, they are members.--Jeffery (talk) 03:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
I deleted the breakup rumours section of this article, it is just speculation and dosen't have a place here until it's true. Feel free to revert if you feel it's necessarySkaterchild3 (talk) 11:59, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I removed this sentence
As of March 2009, it appears Scars on Broadway may be over.
That is simply not encyclopedic; it's just conjecture written using weasel words.-Jeffery (talk) 02:13, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree, I believe that we shouldn't have any mention of them breaking up until it's official.11:41, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
How long should we wait until we change this article slightly, should we wait forever, or keep it up to date-----I think I'll update it so that the band is "on hold" under the years active section. I think that the recent events should also be mentioned (Darren's break, and unknown status). (talk) 1:07pm April 10th 2009
- That sounds reasonable /Jeffery (talk) 22:34, 10 April 2009 (UTC)\
That sounds fine, just as long as it's sourced. --Skater (talk) 04:20, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Until it's official, I put up 2003, 2006-present (status unknown). We gotta wait til Daron makes it VERY official. MetalMagnet1987 (talk) 22:56, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Their has also been some debate about whether or not SOADFANS is a reliable source. I believe it to be, but after watching the edits on the [System of a Down|SoaD] page it's not clear. Both of the sources that state they have been broken up are from SoaDfans.--Skater (talk) 14:14, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Comparison to Elect The Dead
I don't think there's any reason to mention comparing SoB's debut album with Elect The Dead. I'm still new to Wiki, but no bracketed numbers means that there's no source, right? Fumbingehmer (talk) 09:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
SoB's Status
There seems to be a large group of people who keep changing the years active. Perhaps we should put something like SoaD has, asking them not to change the years active without consensus. Did we ever really find consensus on (Status unknown)?--Skater (talk) 00:47, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- John Dolmayan has repeatedly said in interviews that the band has broken up, and Daron Malakian has for the most part retreated from the music scene for the time being. At the moment Scars on Broadway is on unofficial hiatus. - Raditzu (talk) 00:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- they're not on unofficial hiatus. they broke up and that's that.67.191.60.174 (talk) 01:02, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
They haven't officially broken up. Until that is announced, it cannot be assumed (at least not on this entry).Jeffery (talk) 07:11, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
I support unofficial hiatus. I'd like to know what the others think so we can finally leave it.--SKATER Speak. 04:28, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway
Unless you can provide a source that says Daron is officially out of the band, do not put him in the past members column. I know that he missed that USO performance, but that doesn't mean anything. When Lars Ulrich missed some tour dates a few years back, did that mean he was officially out of the band? No. It just meant that he missed some dates.//Jeffery (talk) 23:38, 6 September 2009 (UTC)//
- I feel like sometimes people forget that band members are human, not machines things do come up.--SKATER Speak. 03:39, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
RFC
Should I start up an RFC for see what others think of Daron's Status?--SKATER Speak. 00:48, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
RFC: Should Daron still be considered a member of SoB?
My apologies if I have messed this up, it's my first time requesting an RFC.
Anyways, Daron Malakian appears to have dissapeared from the music scene entirely and for a while it appeared that Scars on Broadway was done before this USO tour. So now the question remains whether Daron should still be considered a member? --SKATER Speak. 19:48, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, until such time as sources say otherwise. Statements in Wiki articles need to have sources, and listing him as a former member is a nontrivial change that would require a reference to back it up. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 15:01, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Citation?
Is a citation really needed for that first sentence? It's common knowledge that the band was founded by John Dolmayan and Daron Malakian from System of a Down. That's the only reason the band is well known —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.56.172.102 (talk) 08:11, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- If it's common knowledge then it shouldn't be that hard to find a citation then.--SKATER Speak. 18:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
I added a photo
I addded this photo with the band members on it a discription of who is who. ok? Pilmccartney (talk) 20:37, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

There are a lot of broken links (5 out of 8) in the External Links section. I don't know any good link so I won't update but if someone has some good references (fan sites...), please update ! Killergege (talk) 23:57, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Most of the refs for this article and other articles on this topic seem to be gleaned from Scars on Broadway's social media pages. For this to pass muster, those citations need to be replaced with citations from reliable sources independent of the subject pbp 01:28, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
