How and why he died
[edit]Does anyone have any idea how or why he died? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.154.255 (talk • contribs) 15:44, 10 July 2005
- That information was opted to not be shared publicly. --Paul Laudanski 16:10, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
- Which is why s/he asked about it privately in the discussion page. Please anyone share this great mystery. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.153.179.197 (talk • contribs) 11:58, 7 February 2007
- The details of his death have not been made public due to the wishes of his family.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.154.255 (talk • contribs) 15:44, 10 July 2005
- And who decided that, you? -62.219.97.118 (talk) 08:52, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

- My guess is that it was something freaky or AIDS. Anyways, I am going to get a copy of the death certificate and see what's what. Who cares about the so-called 'wishes of the family.' The public has a right to know! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.243.2.132 (talk) 15:08, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- YES do that, I suggested finding the family and whippin them good until they tell back in Sept (hopefully the 11th) 2008 but someone edited it out. But heheh you thought i forgot!! I never forget. 3 years later and i'm still batshit crazy. Scott R lemonade you will pay society for what you did done. Signed and dated. Dictated and raped. 76.108.117.63 (talk) 07:44, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well well, looks like another 3 years and still no answer, and I'm still completely batshit crazy. Scott R Limone you have evaded details for far too long. Now it's time to pay the piper, if you catch my drift (necrophilia). You brought this upon yourself for dressing too provocatively. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.135.115.162 (talk) 06:42, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- Another 3 years, still batshit insane, and Scott R Lemmings has still not been brought to justice. Your death has been far too dignified and peaceful for your transgression. It is time now for the "Final Solution" to the question of the details. I will be become stronger than you can imagine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:587:4301:B7C1:D98A:AAA7:DFCA:92B7 (talk) 03:49, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
- It is time once again, with 3 years gone by, batshit insane as ever, and Scott R Limeade has not given us what we need. Your hellish suffering is no consolation for the lack of details. I now require the ultimate in personal satisfaction (self-pleasure) and will prepare my consequences for your unwillingness to provide. I stand erect with youthful vigor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.18.109 (talk) 22:02, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Mildly interesting.

Proxomitron.org
[edit]I removed the defunct link to Proxomitron.org as it's a parked domain with largely misleading ads. Fatalis 13:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Notability?
[edit]Sorry to hear he died, but honestly is this guy notable? He wrote a software package with a dedicated fan base, but at the same time I wouldn't call it widely known. Shouldn't this article just merge to Proxomitron, the only thing for which he is at all notable. Generally, a software developer isn't going to be individually notable enough for their own article just for writing a single software package. 60.225.114.230 (talk) 06:43, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- He'd developed a good one. Such a good that after a 10 years since the end of development it still do most ppl want it to do, and after a 10 years since end of development we have no comparable product on the market being it free or commercial.
- (Be noted that today, in modern software area it seems to me that 10 years is like 100 years in most other areas).
- Now there are millions of programmers around the world but I sad that most of them produce shitcode on 99%.
- Scott is notable person, trust me. He worked hardly over a 4 years and made a perfect free product for community.
- Gagarin did performed "almost nothing". He sat in the armchair and got worldwide famous person after a 24 hours. Another ppl worked hardly all that hours, years before and years after to make it possible, and we don't know most of them after a 50 years, but he just had sat and looked through the window to our great Earth... And all these 50 years we all know him and no one have doubts he's notable person. And I don't too.
- There's bad we have too few info on such a talented man like Scott was. I'd like to know more about his life, birth, family, childhood, education, job and other projects (even small). I would like to know who obtained sources of great program after Scott's death and why these people or company didn't continued development of such a great unique product nor released sources to the public at least for money. I'm sure many people were ready to donate for family and sources to be released to the public. Important things should be available to the public being free or commarcial because it is "creative commons" and there will be no progress if some things will be hidden. Proxomitron case shows it. And certainly I would like to know why he died being so young. I feel the pain in my heart when I hear that such a young and talented people pass away too soon. We're all interested of life of great and famous people. And we all have sins. There are no saints or angels around. Whether he died from AIDS, cancer, used to be gay, had been killed by maniac or a police officer, I'll respect him anyway and will thank him anyway for his labour for the community and "notable" results!
- I've found just a one valuable link for a while which will allow to correct date and place of birth of Scott (please do it).
- SCOTT R LEMMON was born 28 January 1968, got Social Security number 591-54-5805 (indicating Florida,) and died 01 May 2004.
- It's stated on the main page: "This is a privately owned genealogy website using a purchased copy of the Social Security Death Master File." So the source seems to be referred as reliable. I'm not a US resident and not familiar with SS ID's, but ones who are familiar can do some useful research (I hope with adequate respect to Scott).
- And last. Sorry if I posted some info to the inappropriate section but here's just one small page to divide.

- I was trying to track down Scott to see if I could obtain the source code to his older Atari ST projects. Scott's postal address above is the exact same address in the Mouse Boot IV archive, for which I was seeking the source code. Back in the day when he was working on Mouse Boot I was in direct contact with him via telephone and snail mail. I beta tested Mouse Boot at the time. After he moved on to the PC he granted me permission to re-distribute the non-demo version and that was the last contact I had with Scott. I am shocked to hear of his early passing. The only other insight I can give anyone about Scott is he liked ray tracing. I still have a floppy disk with some of his renderings.
