Merge proposal
Self-Realization Order is an organisation intrinsically connected to the SRF. Our SRO article relies entirely on primary sources, contains little information of merit and could easily be incorporated into this SRF article. Two sentences or so should do it.
A search of Google using the phrase ""self-realization order" -wikipedia -facebook -yogananda-srf -amazon -lyrics -allmusic" (I've limited the results, as you can see) gets next to nothing for the SRO that is an independent reliable source, perhaps because this is one of the many minority fruit-loop "religions" that exist. SRO is a completely unnecessary fork. - Sitush (talk) 20:24, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think it is a good idea to merge the two articles in SRF - I think your assessment is correct except I think it needs more than two sentences perhaps more like paragraphs.Red Rose 13 (talk) 06:34, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- No merge. As with any spiritual movements, there those who want to live ordinary lives yet listen to the teachings , this would be a fellowship, and those who are hard-core, that would be an order. They should be separate.--Jondel (talk) 07:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well, the alternative to a merge would appear to be deletion on the grounds that it lacks notability (few independent accounts that discuss it). Perhaps you can resolve that sourcing issue? - Sitush (talk) 07:32, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I guess I could dig up more sources to beef up notability? --Jondel (talk) 08:00, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

- Merge both are very short article, no need to create two separate pages and per the points mentioned the first post in this thread! --Tito Dutta ✉ 01:32, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- Highly agree on merging, but I will not do it. [w.] 14:06, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Miscellaneous changes
Brought this to discuss here - Core kriya yoga is the Ujjayi breath, which is a fine pranayama method and publicly known. This page is about Self-Realization not views about Kriya Yoga. From what I have read, SRF, promotes a number of meditation techniques.Red Rose 13 (talk) 09:53, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Brought these sentences to discuss here and added a neutral sentence that allows the reader to make their own conclusions. Again these sentences stated are a persons opinion. The document defines SRF as a religion with more extensive purposes than the buffet list above. One of them is to combat creature comforts, which also includes normal, cosy sex. Brought this here again your references are not reliable citations - Others go deep and enter, and many of those get disappointed. For example, one third of the SRF monastics left the premises around 2001, according to the SRF Walrus, a discussion forum that was set up by a former SRF monastic and run for over ten years afterwards. On the discussion board, former monastics and members debated and exposed SRF goings they knew well, many of them. There is today (2013) a Backup Site of the SRF Walrus discussion forum. Self-realization order
We moved the page Self-Realization Order to this page because (1) both pages were so short and (2) someone might not know to search for the order by itself. Now I would like to move the SRF order section down to after Reception because it is not a place but a chosen way of life. The SRF order is when someone chooses to give their life to serving God. Because of that to me it is clearer to have it in its own section at the bottom - separate from the organizational information. Red Rose 13 (talk) 00:47, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
