Untitled

[edit]

Has any official source said this show is set in Back of the Yards? If so, please cite, because the homes of the characters are all in the Lawndale neighborhood, which is on the West Side, not the South Side. The elevated tracks in the background are unmistakably the Pink Line, which doesn't run through Back of the Yards. Sheila Jackson's house is on Spaulding Ave on the east side of the street between 19th and 21st adjacent to the Pink Line tracks, and the Gallagher house is 2119 S Homan Ave, also in Lawndale. I tried to find an official source or interview calling their neighobrhood Back of the Yards and couldn't - just asking for citations to support the words. Monica? Who's Monica?

[edit]

Cast/characters section says Cameron "is not the son of Frank, but of Monica and one of Frank's brothers." There is no mention of who "Monica" is. Recurring cast section mentions "Chloe Webb as Monica Gallagher." I think we can infer that Monica is Frank's ex- or estranged wife, and the mother of the Gallagher children, but it would be useful to call this out explicitly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.191.166.202 (talk) 18:24, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It says who Monica is in the recurring characters section. Steve K 01:41, 2 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skafkas (talkcontribs)

Monica Gallagher is referenced directly many times, as well as a significant character within the show although not often through physical appearance. As a biological parent to the main characters of the cast I will be adding her character to the main page. CLLeary (talk) 23:35, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

comedy

[edit]

Shouldn't this be listed as a comedy? It's advertised as a comedy, also you can tell by how it's presented. --24.94.251.19 (talk) 11:27, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is this series an exact replication of the uk series or only takes the character and plot structure with new scenes and side-plots. This information is lacking in the lede section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.88.209.119 (talk) 22:19, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Liam

[edit]

The article says that Liam is black even though he has two white parents. This is possible, but very unlikely to happen in real life. In episode 9 his mother claims that Frank is not the father of Liam. I don't know if it is revealed later who Liams father really is, but if it unknown, the article shouldn't claim that he has two white parents. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.164.84.14 (talk) 22:35, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also it states that Frank is not Liam's biological father but later states that he has inherited genes from Frank's family. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.139.113.113 (talk) 12:37, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers

[edit]

Cast description contains spoilers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.240.73.64 (talk) 08:33, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't this article mention similarities and differences between this series and the original UK one? That's why I came to this article but there's nothing. There's also no mention of why the USA remade the series. I can understand remaking foreign language series because Americans won't read subtitles (unlike in the UK) but remaking a UK series? Was it because the language was too difficult for people to understand? Was it that American TV is more hesitant to include hard drug use? Such a waste of an article.--109.112.25.0 (talk) 22:19, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable relations involving family

[edit]

Does the show have a thing for questionable relations that somewhat intrude on family ties? e.g. Lip's girlfriend's brother is the gay lover of Lip's cousin Ian. Kevin impregnates Veronica's mother. Fiona starts an affair with the brother of her boss who she's also having an affair with. Sammi thought Frank wasn't her father but learns a bit late. Even Frank formally states that "dry humping is not incest". Tandrum (talk) 09:56, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Liam Gallagher ; The Johnson twins seem to have been replaced by Brenden Simms ( S05 Ep01 , S05 Ep02 )

[edit]

Liam Gallagher is apparently played by someone else starting season 5. This should be amended in the main article.

Cast order listing

[edit]

Since this apparently needs explaining, the cast list in the infobox is ordered based on the opening credits from the first episode to present. As such, Macy and Rossum appear at the top, followed by the original cast members in alphabetical order of their last name. After that, the actors are added in order of their first appearance in the opening credits. Cusack (S01E01), Greenwell and McGowan (S03E01), Fisher (S03E02), McDorman (S04E01), and Bergl (S05E01). Cast order listing

So, Emma should be placed after Steve... Fansdisney (talk) 19:24, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Correct, and thank you for fixing that. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 19:33, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Irish ancestry

[edit]

Is the Gallagher's and the Milkovich's family background Irish? They do the tonal oscillation that is characteristic of the Irish. 184.145.61.252 (talk) 02:07, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cult status

[edit]

Is the show certified cult? 184.145.61.252 (talk) 02:09, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well considering I worship the show and due to the vast number of people who feel the same way, I would say yes. I don't know how to officially know though. Fimbulvintur (talk) 21:42, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lip's School

[edit]

On the page it says University of Chicago but I have seen other people say Chicago Poly (made up school). here and here. I don't recall either being said in the show so I'm not sure if there's another official source that says something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.15.199.2 (talk) 04:24, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reference errors

[edit]

There is a problem with the references inside the "Episodes" list. The list is invoked from a separate article which uses named references from that article "s8premiere" and "s8renewel". I'm not sure how to fix this without simply removing the references, which will leave this article without references, or by creating a separate table for each article, which can create other problems. Any of you wiki-guru's should have a look. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.51.149.199 (talk) 08:13, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for point it out. As a workaround to this, you can define references within the reflist as explained in H:CERNT#Overview. -- ChamithN (talk) 09:21, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Who and what do the brackets refer to?

[edit]

On the topic of Mickey Milkovich under cast and characters, seasons are in parenthesis at the end of things. Do they relate to Svetlana? Daddy Milkovich? Mickey? Only the marriage to Svetlana? Who can tell. Arcsoda (talk) 03:23, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
