See the other article, Ali al-Khawas. The footnote cites Vitray-Meyerovitch's "Anthologie du soufisme." Time says that Khawas is 9th century, but it may in fact be the 16th century Sheikh, who died in 932 AH, not AD, that the pope, via Vitray-Meyerovitch, is quoting.
