"Danger, Will Robinson..."
[edit]Looking at the level of detail of the plot synopsis, there is a serious risk of this article becoming Secret Invasion 2.0. We need to strip the synopsis down to the bare-bone facts. Wikipedia should not be a substitute for reading the comics themselves. As it stands, it's practically a page-by-page commentary.
Also, are we going to include information from tie-ins (e.g., Siege Embedded)? Because that was a huge problem with the Secret Invasion article as well. Planewalker Dave (talk) 22:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- I am of the opinion that new titles should be noted here but tie-ins from on-going series should be noted in their own respective articles. But yes some concision is needed. -TriiipleThreat (talk) 15:14, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
This has gotten out of hand. The plot summary exceedingly fails WP:CMOS#PLOT. Also the inclusion of tie-in issuses such as Thor has made it entirely too long. I am now also of the opinion that Siege Embedded needs to removed and the article should stick to the core Siege issuses.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:51, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- Definitely. This article is currently ridiculous. Planewalker Dave (talk) 17:01, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Someone want to turn the flamethrowers on it? otherwise, I'll have a go at the weekend. --Cameron Scott (talk) 09:16, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Way, way overdetailed -- violates WikiProject Comics policy
[edit]Let's all please stop adding plot to this article and start subtracting it. It is far too long, as editors above noted last month, and it needs to be cut down, not added to indiscriminately. Please read the long-established consensus policy at WP:CMOS#PLOT, which states, in part:
"In order to justify the fair use of copyrighted material, plot discussions must be concise summaries, not detailed abridgments that can serve as a substitute for the reading of the actual story. Summarizing should never be on a per-issue basis and should only outline the plot rather than describe minor details."
Cameron Scott colloquially says we need to turn flamethrowers on it. Several of us pitch in to condense it surgically — and by that I mean we need to lop off limbs — or likely a couple of the veteran editors will be forced to strip it down severely and start layering it back. But it simply cannot continue like this — please read the article-header tags for goodness' sake. --Tenebrae (talk) 01:47, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- The final issue was just released so I imagine there will be a lot of traffic to this article for the next couple of weeks and with that a lot of new IP edits. To make this easier I suppose we wait this out until the initial attention has died back down. --TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:18, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- On second thought copy right infirngment should not wait, so if we want to get started now, I'll help try to hold back the waves of detailed IP edits. --TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:25, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- I tried to compress; it was reverted. Sigh. Lots42 (talk) 01:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- I;ve now completed another attempt, in the wake of the Comics Project now moving to more actively follow Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction), as can be seen in the deletion of Fictional history of Wolverine, the deletion of Fictional history of Green Goblin, and the deletion of Fictional history of Spider-Man. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:50, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
Reception?
[edit]Article needs a "Reception" section to cover critical and fan reception. 38.111.35.2 (talk) 18:33, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Other than in the infobox, there is little real world information about the creation of this character and his first appearance. This information should be added to the lead section. Also, there are no secondary sources for this article, only primary sources. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 19:15, 4 December 2008 (UTC) |
