[edit]Hey,

Characters name
[edit]Dolores's name is spelled many different ways throughtout this article. I am reverting them all to the original (Dolores), until another source proves that name wrong —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.81.178.253 (talk) 15:13, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Film Based on Another Film?
[edit]More than Nuns on the Run I think this film is based on "Dark Habits" a film by Pedro Almodovar. The lead is also a lounge singer, and though it has been several years since I've seen Sister Act I think the costume that Whoopi is wearing at the beginning is almost identical. Its themes are more adult but it still ends with a performance by the female lead for all the nuns she has befriended. It doesn't say on imdb or Wiki whether this is the case. Anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.208.61 (talk) 17:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd tend to agree, but this review is the only halfway encyclopaedic mention I could find of the connection. Oosh (talk) 00:56, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- The connection is obvious to anyone who has seen both movies. Unfortunately, whatever was in the review mentioned above by Oosh has been lost, because the link is dead beyond repair. As rabid as Disney is in protecting its assets, there almost surely will never be any admission of the artistic debt to Almodóvar, so only those of us who think for ourselves will ever know.--Jim10701 (talk) 04:52, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, hope I'm replying correctly. I posted the original comment about Dark Habits, thanks for your replies - I recommend people don't click on the above link now, seems virusy. I just read about Donna Douglas trying to sue the makers of Sister Act, saying they had based it on the novel "A Nun in the Closet" which she owned the rights to, so I thought of this talk page. She lost the case, predictably. Here's a plot summary: http://www.detecs.org/sisterjohn.html doesn't sound that similar as I remember either film. I think Pedro had more reason to sue but he did the right thing - just continued making the best cinema of the modern age, taking the moral high ground. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.155.131.120 (talk) 15:03, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Any Info on Whoopi's Singing Voice?
[edit]Did Whoopi do her own singing? If so, what was the critical reception? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.94.112.16 (talk) 15:43, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
End Credits
[edit]The End Credits contain the following:
- THIS MOTION PICTURE WAS CREATED BY WALT DISNEY PICTURES AND TELEVISION FOR PURPOSES OF COPYRIGHT LAW IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
What was the reason for this and is it noteworthy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.25.213.48 (talk) 14:18, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
