Big Finish reference!

[edit]

The first adult human to wake up describes himself as a MedTech first class. Big Finish Eighth Doctor (current? Not finished with Doom Coalition 4 just yet) companion Liv Chenka is also a MedTech. Reference! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.147.22.94 (talk) 10:39, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Then find a reference; it's not just up to us, but you as well. -- AlexTW 10:47, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Besides, it's more likely a reference to The Ark in Space. Still need to cite a source, though. DonQuixote (talk) 13:41, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't saying put a citation/reference. I was saying it is a reference to another corner of DW. These pages are all locked so I'm here pointing out something that you may have missed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.147.22.94 (talk) 17:20, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article isn't locked, though? -- AlexTW 17:23, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And you missed the point that it probably isn't a reference to "another corner of DW". Frankly, both Liv and this episode are referring back to The Ark in Space, IMO. The point is that we need a reliable source to unambiguously say any of this. DonQuixote (talk) 18:53, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Continuity...

[edit]

While this edit does properly source the "continuity", a lot of these I think really beg the question of what is continuity. For example, the Doctor encountering colonies before is.. not really continuity, just a reused plot element. Continuity would be elements that specifically reference past episodes, rather than just casual observation even if this is from a secondary source. --MASEM (t) 23:05, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Masem, I appreciate you bringing this up (and see next episode talk page). We've avoided this problem before because there were never so many references to so-called easter eggs in the show. I've removed some of the more egregious offending sentences (the oppressed colony thing has me shaking my head). You know, virtually no other TV series articles bother with a Continuity section precisely because the more obsessive species of fan just loves this sort of thing. I have actually had to remove references to when the last time a bikini appeared in the series, or the first male companion since so-and-so. It just gets ridiculous. Reverting

[edit]

People are undoing a rather trivial edit I made, without bothering to explain why. See WP:REVEXP and note that if you revert an edit without adequately explaining why, it appears to be a bad faith action.

What I did was move text from a footnote to the main text. I did this because if something is worth mentioning, it should be mentioned in the main text. What benefit could there possibly be to putting it anywhere else? 118.143.40.9 (talk) 05:56, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have violated WP:3RR, an actual policy, and can be reported for both edit-warring, and doing it while logged in and out. -- AlexTW 05:58, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
