Notability[edit]

In this case, there are enough news coverage (even in the English-laguage media) to pass the Wikipedia notability guideline (see [1] and [2] for the western news coverage, and [3] for the Persian coverage). The arguments in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Death of Naser Amirnejad are irrelevant here (unless the editors insist on being blind to the news coverage). I think it is notable enough to have a page for its own. The case is NOT "just another victim" during the protests. It is the only one who got attention from prime minister Mousavi and ex-parliament speaker Karroubi. Both visited the victim's house. It is covered extensively by Western and local media for more than a month. In addition to becoming a symbol of protests, the case is important because: 1. The death happened while the victim was at the hands of the Judiciary/police and therefore the responsibility goes clearly to them. In the case of Neda Agha-Soltan and many other victims, the regime has always refused to accept the responsibility and blamed them on others. 2. It generated fear in the public as many think the lives of other arrested activists are also in danger. I think the case is a historic one and needs a proper treatment in wikipedia. Help with language[edit]

I went through the article, checking the references and filling out their details. But I’ve run into trouble with a couple of them because they’re in Farsi or Arabic (I can’t even tell). Can someone who can read these references help out? — NRen2k5(TALK), 23:13, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
