Prologue

[edit]

In the article it says that Child and normal passports are no different apart from the expiry date, this misleads you to think that there is no other difference; child passports say Child Passport and Passport Enfant on the front.

HI - can you show a source to this? have seen thousands of ZAF pasportds and have never seen a child's passport. I just see ordinary passports with differing expiry dates. Cheers --Spartaz 06:34, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need a visa for Thailand on an SA passport either (as of 2003).

Coat-of-arms

[edit]

Are the new passports nowadays issued with the new coat of arms of South Africa? – Kaihsu (talk) 17:25, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect info

[edit]

The new world map is incorrect. For instance, Mexico now requires South Africans to obtain visas. Also, Turkey issues visas on arrival.

Hopefully someone can fix this and put up a picture of the new South African passport. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.97.236.151 (talk) 00:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll fix the map. Passportguy (talk) 00:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed Tunisia from the list, the UK embassy now claims South African passport holders need to apply for a full visa before arriving, they no longer grand visas on arrival. Map will be out of date now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.9.242 (talk) 11:14, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. What is the status of Europe? Please verify. Thanks MrDJWade

WP:SAFRICA assessment

[edit]

Assessed as C-Class. Some good content but needs a lot of work done to the style. Ron2K (talk) 20:07, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

French language on passport

[edit]

Is there any reason why the French language on this passport? Is it an official or semi-official language in South Africa? Laurent (talk) 08:58, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Likely due to most of Africa being able to speak french (except SA) as a diplomatic ease of use thing or something. French is not even close to being a semi-official language in South Africa. 152.110.0.198 (talk) 14:48, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
