Distribution

[edit]

I have an issue with this statement in the article: is the main lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia and the Southeast United States. The fact is, SoVo stopped distribution in much of the South a few years ago. I believe they are still in New Orleans and Dallas but I do know their distribution in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida stopped - so they definitely aren't the "main LGBT newspaper in the Southeast US". They may report on things in the Southeast, but they don't distribute all over the South. In fact, the main LGBT news print in Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama is Friends & Family out of Memphis, Tennessee. So maybe a cleanup here? -- ALLSTAR ECHO 03:00, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So far I only see SV saying it has readership of 100,000 -- no other sources say so, except for those referencing the SV assertion. --72.68.126.29 (talk) 11:41, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:SELFPUB. Only them saying they have a readership of 5 or 100,000 is fine. -- ALLSTARecho 16:30, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Publisher

[edit]

As stated on www.sovo.com and on projectqatlanta.com, Southern Voice is now part of Gaydar Atlanta, and was slated to return on April 7, 2010, and has been rescheduled to April 14. This information has been updated, but removed twice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KSUAtlanta (talkcontribs) 04:13, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i reverted several edits by Travisg76 (talk · contribs) based on WP:COI. also, even though the paper is under new ownership, the article's content shouldn't be deleted along with the history without clearly explaining the changes and what happened. further, all new information must be supported with proper references and sources. --emerson7 06:25, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

emerson7 constantly takes the verified corrected verion of this page and reverts to thr outdated incorrect page. There is now an alert thatthe pages needs updating. Refrences from actual websites, and from staff of the paper don't seem to matter to emerson7. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.204.21.160 (talk · contribs) 18:58, 28 April 2010

edits like [1] don't represent a "verified corrected" version of anything, but rather an attempt to rewrite history. It does seem that this newspaper has been relaunched (at least, the website has), but omitting the closure and sale of the old paper is not a neutral presentation of the facts. thanks...my only concern is to maintain the integrity of the article. with each revert i and others have made, there's has been an accompanying explanation on how to properly edit, and cite the changes without wiping the article's content and history. --emerson7 03:10, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please double check your facts. Articles were updated, leaving details of closure, sale, and relaunch without wiping out the history. Strange the David Atlanta page didn't have these issues when I revised it. Anyway, I won't waste my time anymore on this one. I'm sure the competition will love that.
