With the current and seemingly increasing amount of funds devoted to space by both NASA, DoD and private enterprise (Virgin Galactic, for example), it would seem that Spacedev is in a good position to capitalize on its engineering expertise and SpaceShipOne engine developmental experience. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.8.131.52 (talk • contribs) .
Need an update for SpaceDev losing the NASA COTS proposal. Some, myself included thought they had a good chance to be one of the two winners (SpaceX and Rocketplane-Kistler). Still, they have a pretty robust set of contracts, albeit mostly low dollar value. —Taka2007 05:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've updated the article to reflect that it was not a Phase 1 winner, but it would be nice if someone could find an external reference that explicitly states that its proposal was rejected and some of the reasons for it. -- Bovineone 19:38, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
