Notability[edit]

I don't see why notability should be doubted, since the article has links to newspaper stories. Jim.henderson (talk) 17:29, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Part of the notability is not just newspaper stories. The murder of the family really has nothing to do with the church. The article says it is one of 200 similar churches, so I am curious; what makes this one deserve an article? Abductive (reasoning) 19:10, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, well, maybe not. In part I was reacting to the prospect of a dashed hope of returning to that part of New Jersey earlier in the day to take a better photo; my old one was backlit and near the end of a tiring trip and doesn't do it justice. There are other targets in the neighborhood including the former JC Medical Center. However, if the proposal is to merge with other New Jersey Coptic articles rather than lose the church, I can be cool with that. Jim.henderson (talk) 17:01, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Does the Coptic church have bishophrics the would be a suitable merge target? Abductive (reasoning) 21:39, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not that I know. See List_of_Coptic_Orthodox_Churches_in_the_United_States#New_Jersey; NY and NJ each have several churches but of the organization of the large diocese into provinces or whatever, I have no idea. The North America Archbishop is in some NJ place I never heard of. Sorry to be so hasty; taking advantage of beautiful weather for a photo expedition; planning to unfold the bike in Newark, follow and photograph an abandoned rail line to Montclair which I've never seen, and then figure how to return to Manhattan before dark. Many churches are also likely but not Coptic ones. Jim.henderson (talk) 15:30, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
