" from whence"

[edit]

I've got a problem with the words " from whence" in the lede - this is not modern usage - please check with MOS if you really want to keep this. Whence, thence, whither, hither, thither (and maybe hence and yon) are all cool words that maybe can be used in specific phrases, but not in general. There's nothing in the MOS, but the Wiktionary entry has a similar stylistic note. So I reworded the sentence. Daniel Case (talk) 05:05, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fenestrated?

[edit]

"On the rear, one window on the first story and three on the second have been boarded over. Modern fire doors flank the first window on the first story. There is also a small attic window in the gable field. Both sides are fully fenestrated.[1]"

How about just saying it has windows? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.94.68.193 (talk) 02:08, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
