Witness
[edit]I am a witness to many of the happenings in the Mar Thoma Church between 1947 and 1961. I know personally many of the members who joined the St. Thomas Evangelical Church. Neduvelilmathew (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Seven Years of Edits Removed??
[edit]In Aug 2017, seven years of edits were removed and are not revertible under a "copyright claim." How can so many years of independent edits be removed and decided thusly?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.27.229.237 (talk) 16:56, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Edits on St. Thomas Evangelical Church
[edit]Regarding the edit [1] on St. Thomas Evangelical Church, I still don't like it. Unfortunately, I can't read the Google Books reference; it seems once the site gets a few hits on an item, it rejects further ones with a message that some limit has been reached. I did reread the passage from Mark 7. I think it's the phrasing I don't like, "further reducing the church's human baggage (traditions) picked up along its journey through history". I find the phrase "human baggage" odd, though I understand what 'baggage' means in the sense that I've dated a few people who brought more to the relationship than could be stored in the overhead compartment. It still doesn't seem clear what is being said here. Also, "picked up along its journey through history" seems a bit flowery and verbose for an encyclopedia.
Normally, I would be on my way, and leave Wikipedia to work its magic, but this article has fewer than 30 watchers. So in the interest of WP:BRD, can I challenge you to find a clearer rewording? Cheers. Willondon (talk) 04:19, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- I also agree with you on the flowery and verbose part for encyclopedic purpose. I get that you understand the sentence and its reference. If you are willing to suggest a reworded sentence, it could be used. The baggage is related to the traditions and man made functions in churches that each reformation challenges and sought to diminish by following the bible in its traditional sense. At least that's what the church mentioned in this article attempted.174.4.26.61 (talk) 08:42, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- Ah. I understand "human baggage" better now in the sense of human vs divine. I'll try to come up with some better wording. Willondon (talk) 20:46, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
