Merger

[edit]

Oppose merger This very detailed description of a church should not be merged with any other church description. --DThomsen8 (talk) 01:41, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Organ

[edit]

The section on the organ read; "Priestman was an accomplished organist and seems to have ensured that the organ was well placed and catered for. Considered to be the work of Harrison & Harrison in 1905, (the same year they were renovating the Willis organ of Durham Cathedral), and largely erected by the Vincent Organ Company of Sunderland, this organ is most carefully designed and built. The swell box is located right at the back of a large, spacious chamber where everything is readily accessible. Everything about it is of first quality; its original electric action (with pistons located on the left hand stop jamb) was, in its day, cutting-edge. Its golden display pipes are arranged in the style of the day, unframed atop a dark wooden case." which was uncited and is clearly contradicted by the authoritative National Pipe Organ Register but I thought I would preserve it here for future interest.
