Notability[edit]

Elliott, who held enslaved people, supported the Southern cause in the American Civil War.

This statement seems redundant. If he was Bishop of the Confederate branch of the church, then he naturally supported the Southern cause, and would be likely to own slaves. It sounds like a moral evaluation, and therefore non-encyc. Valetude (talk) 05:58, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
