Far too many names

[edit]

The history section of this article contains far too many names of people who are simply not significant. The only names that "deserve" to be mentioned in an article such as this are people who already have Wikipedia articles or are clearly notable enough to have articles about them. Quite frankly that won't happen for anyone below the rank of Colonel. Nobody (except people who personally know them or served in the unit themselves) cares what various Sergeants and Lieutenants did. The effect of having so many names is to make the article look like it was lifted out of the regiment's "old boys" newsletter. Roger (talk) 09:35, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rodger, the reason why lower ranks were mentioned is because the Regiment took a few years to build to full strength and began with a handful of the leader group. These members went on to become field ranks and senior NCO's but were responsible for contributing towards the full growth of the regiment. Same with Airborne Supply, began and grew from a second Lieutenant into the Air Supply it is today. Airborne!91.72.134.108 (talk) 14:59, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but it's still not acceptable encyclopedic style. Read some other "fully developed" articles about military units, you will see only a few key people are mentioned by name. Roger (talk) 15:28, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
