Is this route really closed? Stockinbingal, New South Wales appears to say it's on the major freight routes from Sydney to Perth and Melbourne to Brisbane! --Scott Davis Talk 13:35, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because of better gradients and lesser summits to climb, most passenger and freight trains travel by Stockinbingal rather than via Lithgow. Tabletop (talk) 07:37, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
