There is a dramatic incident regardin use of Chakra by Sri Krishna in the Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata.Bhishma the Commander in Chief of the Kaurava army was engaged in a fierce battle with Arjuna on the ninth day of the battle. Arjuna was finding it very difficult to defend himself against the onslaught of Bhishma. At that time it so happened that one or two arrows of Bhishma pierced the chest of Sri Krishna which was against the rule of warfare. Krishna could not control of his anger and he jumped out of the chariot and ran towards the chariot of Bhishma, with the Sudarshan Chakra in his hand, Saying that he will kill Bhishma and protect Arjuna that day . Seeing Sri Krishna rushing towards him Bhishma got down from his chariot and went towards Sri Krishna with folded handa, inviting Krishna to use the Chakra against him . But Arjuna ran towards Krishna and requested him to withdraw his chakra. Somehow krishna was pacified and withdrew his chakra.( Mahabharat-Bhishma Parva', 9th day’s battle-wikipedia ) 2.Jagaran.com,why did Lord Krishna use Sudarshan Chakra during Mahabharat war?[reply]
