Recent move
[edit]I have no idea as to why this article was moved to "Sunnism in Lebanon" recently as there wasn't even a comment left on this talk page to inform other editors as to why it should be changed. I'm pleased to see that it has been restored to "Sunni Islam in Lebanon" which strikes me as being the most appropriate WP:TITLE in keeping with convention followed by other articles about religion anywhere in the world: Roman Catholicism in Germany, Sunni Islam, etc. 'Catholicism' is standard usage in view of Christianity (and Christian denominations) being the norm for Anglophone countries, Christianity being the dominant religious belief system. I have encountered no conventional use of "Sunnism" as being a WP:COMMONNAME for Sunni Islam in the English language.
If an editor feels there is a reliably sourced use of 'Sunnism' as preferential to 'Sunni Islam', please bring arguments to this talk page rather than make executive decisions without so much as an edit summary for the change.
Articles don't necessarily need to go through the Requested Move process, but consultation with other editors is required unless the article has been long abandoned, and the change of title is genuinely deemed to be warranted. Thank you. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:07, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Copyright
[edit]Please see WP:COPYRIGHT as this is a blatant violation of it. AcidSnow (talk) 19:24, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Why are you still restoring copyrighted content? Neither the Lebanese constitution or the National Pact mention "ethnoreligious". See here: National Pact and the Constitution. AcidSnow (talk) 20:47, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Lebanese people (Greek Orthodox Christians) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 21:33, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
