I have no problems if someone wants to find a proper-sized image to us on the right, but the current picture looks very unprofessional and doesn't conform to Wiki page formats at all. Removing for the time being. Tegrenath (talk) 02:21, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy needs some work...

[edit]

"In this movie Doug Benson smokes Marijuana. Marijuana is a controversial topic in America." Really? Nothing more than that? Ugh I may try and dig up some sources when I get a spare minute, but in case that doesn't happen..yeah.

Statistics et al.

[edit]

A previous editor had said that Benson's ESP score improved because he scored 7/25 rather than 1/25. That's not necessarily so: Statistically, an unusually *low* score might be just as important as an unusually *high* score.

I also changed the assertion that his health was "unaffected". A weight gain of eight pounds in a month is a statistically unusual effect. I changed it to "generally inconsequential", which I think is more accurate. --tgeller (talk) 01:52, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Important" in what way? Shiggity (talk) 12:58, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Incidentally, I think he took the test around day 14 - marijuana does stay in the system and marijuana withdrawal could hurt results on some tests. Although psychic tests are really pointless. He took the "mini-mental status" at day 24 or 25. II | (t - c) 07:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A weight fluctuation of that size is probably of varying significance based on the participant. Seems the person most qualified to make a statement on this is Benson's own physician. 208.118.163.99 (talk) 16:53, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notably unusual

[edit]

"His "sober" score was 1 correct guess out of 25, which is notably unusual."

That really depends on how many choices there were, doesn't it? Did they ever say? Shiggity (talk) 12:57, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake in synopsis?

[edit]

The article says, "Benson took various tests to gauge his physical and mental health both before 30 days of not smoking cannabis, and after doing so for 30 days straight." Uh… shouldn't that be: "both after 30 days of not smoking cannabis, and after doing so for 30 days"? - dcljr (talk) 09:56, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Answering my own question (now that I've seen the movie): It wasn't before or after, but during the 30-day period (actually, both 30-day periods). - dcljr (talk) 08:03, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
