Spelling

[edit]

I thought the correct spelling was "SuperLambBanana" as (mostly) on the official website. Suggest a rename. -Insouciance 13:06, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • SuperLambBanana would also be my version, but the three three-word version gets slightly more hits on Google. Rather than a rename, a new article with a redirect to cover both versions of the name is required. Shrew 18:22, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasnt the original location of the sculpture along the dock Road (Chaloner street). Thats the location shown in the Photo. It was orignally moved because it was thoughtnot enough people would see it.

I'm certain it was originally near the Cunard Building, before Williamson Square, I'm sure I've got an old pic of it there, will have to dig it out 81.31.97.129 (talk) 18:13, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quotations section

[edit]

This needs proper references, not just names: we need to know where and when the comments involved were made. The second one is a particular problem: "Birmingham website" is far too vague to pass muster as a reference. 86.132.138.224 01:39, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and have removed the section for now: I couldn't see that it added anything to the article, and it seemed encyclopaedic. Someone can revert me if they want and bring it back to discussion. ColdmachineTalk 07:15, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lambanana

[edit]

I added a disambig intro for the Super Lamb Banana, because I found tons of references to "lambanas" that were really for "lambananas". - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:11, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The?

[edit]

Is there any reason why "The" is in the title? I understand it to be "Super Lamb Banana", afterall it isn't "The Angel of the North" or "The United Kingdom". --Jza84 |  Talk  23:47, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I personally concur but I also think it is necessary to gain a conensus on the title stracture as well. Various sources have it as:
SuperLambBanana
SuperLamBanana
Superlambanana
Super Lamb Banana
--Daviessimo (talk) 08:21, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to suggest that we go with the official website, but even that has some contradictions within it. :S --Jza84 |  Talk  12:20, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The statute itself says "Superlambanana" which reflects the most common term on the official website (although, you are right in that there are discrepancies there too). I've moved the page accordingly. ColdmachineTalk 14:25, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I support this move. (Hypnosadist) 16:09, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Superlambananas return

[edit]

As per template guidelines am adding a section to talk to indicate why I've tagged with "update required". Basically it must have happened or the date needs to shift.

(Last time I visited Liverpool the station looked complete but I didn't see any superlambbananas - but just may have been unobservant or left travelling in the wrong direction)

Icarusgeek (talk) 15:18, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good point, yes, the station is finished and there are no Superlambananas to be seen - I'll see if I can find out what's happened. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:27, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Boing! said Zebedee.
I was in Liverpool yesterday, and still no sign of the Superlabananas at Liverpool Lime Street station, but saw two of the eight fromt the photograph on the Strand close to Mann Island (the black one and the beige one).
I have found no citations to indicate either that this is a permananent home, or that this is temporary before relocation to Liverpool Lime Street Station

Where is it now?

[edit]

The article says that the original Lambanana was returned to the artist; does anyone know where it is now? Is it on display somewhere? I’m asking because there is something very lambanana-y in the council yard off Newton Road (off Prescot Road) Liverpool. Not showing on google earth, unfortunately, though I think it’s been there for years. It’s too big to be one of the replicas, and looks decidedly shabby: Has the owner just abandoned it there?
