Scientific Misconduct - NOT!

[edit]

This article has a section entitled "Scientific misconduct", stating: "Syntex's submission of a fraudulent toxicology analysis of naproxen largely led to the Food and Drug Administration's uncovering of extensive scientific misconduct by Industrial Bio-Test Laboratories in 1976.[3][4][5][6]" Reading those references, it becomes obvious that Syntex was not involved in the misconduct, but was one among many costumers of the testing company in which misconduct happened. Syntex was not even mentioned by name in references [3] and [4]. Why cite them here? There is already an article about the Bio-Test Laboratories company (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Bio-Test_Laboratories) covering the scandal Having a "misconduct" section here is like falsely accusing Syntex of misconduct. Likewise, writing "Syntex's submission of a fraudulent ...." is implying that Syntex might have been aware of the fraudulent nature of the data, which clearly is not the case based on the above references. Finally, reference [6] states that Syntex lost 20 million US$ in sales due to the scandal - by the way: for a product (Naproxene) which is still on the market today and considered safe!92.194.21.100 (talk) 00:33, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Laboratorios Syntex SA" is not "Syntex Corporation"

[edit]

There was some confusion on the Infant formula page. The part about Neo-Mull-Soy was linked to the Syntex page which is about "Laboratorios Syntex SA" not "Syntex Corporation" who actually made Neo-Mull-Soy. This page should be renamed "Laboratorios Syntex SA" and a disambiguation page should be provided for "Laboratorios Syntex SA" vs. "Syntex Corporation".
