Thanks for writing the Tampa Red article. The man is a respected and influential guitarist, and is highly recognized among contemporary blues guitarists. This article was long overdue! --"buck 21:06, 31 March 2006 (UTC)"[reply]

Correct Real Name?

[edit]

This article lists his real name as Hudson Woodbridge. I have seen references elsewhere as "Hudson Whittaker", for example on the liner notes to Marcia Ball's "Let me Play With Your Poodle" CD, the title song of which is credited to Hudson "Tampa Red" Whittaker." - W.E.Smith 04/2007 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Waltesmith (talkcontribs) 00:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The AllMusic Guide mentions Whittaker and Bill Wyman's Blues Odyssey attributes the song "The Duck Yas-Yas-Yas" to Whittaker. "tampa red" whittaker gets 905 hits on Google as opposed to 327 hits for "tampa red" woodbridge, and many of those are probably copies of the Wikipedia article. That would lead me to lean toward Whittaker. Is anyone here who can say which is correct? --Christophernicus 04:55, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
