Notability[edit]

Could the author of this article explain why this horse is notable enough to warrant an encyclopedia article. Does the article fit the definition of a vanity page, and therefore, should it be deleted? - Cuddy Wifter 04:23, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cuddy Wifter. You seem to have an opinion of what is and is-not warranted for an Encyclopedia. I note you did not say Wikipedia. Maybe herein lies the failure you have to understand the difference between today's modern version and that of past era's.

But, onto the point.

Tapdog created history in the Geraldton racing district in 2007, becoming the first horse to win the Geraldton Gold Cup 3 times.

Geraldton itself is....well, that you would know.

Is this horse of significance...well that is not for me to judge, like you have done. Simply, the feats of this horse in the racing precint concerned are unmatched.

Categorisation[edit]

Tap Dog most definitely should NOT appear on the same list as Northerly, Saintly, Octagonal, Phar Lap and other greats of Australian racing. The horse is simply not in the same league. Perhaps a category can be created for Australian race horses and one for Great Australian race horses. This is most definitely a vanity page simply by placement of this horse among true champions.
