Derry City
[edit]Can anyone provide a citation for the Phelan/Derry City debacle? Lochdale 22:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- This has recently been readded, I have removed it as I can find no evidence for it, and also per WP:BLP. Oldelpaso 10:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Scuttler citogenesis
[edit]The notion that Phelan was nicknamed "The Scuttler" is sourced to a book about Eric Cantona [1]. Cycling statistician and journalist acknowledged in 2024 that this name was invented as an act of wikivandalism by he and his cousin, and that it was picked up from Wikipedia by the author of that book [2]
Per WP:CIRCULAR, sources that make claims based only on Wikipedia are not valid sources, so the nickname has been removed. The incident will be added to Wikipedia:List of citogenesis incidents Kevin McE (talk) 16:53, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
