General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

  • Adequate sourcing: Yes
  • Neutral: Yes
  • Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: No - There are a few common phrases that should be reworded, since they are not proper names.
  • Other problems: No - By 1903, Texas—cultivated 234,000 acres of rice. - was there supposed to be something in the middle of the sentence? Otherwise, remove the dash.

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - Hook is sourced, but the citation needs to be repeated just after the relevant statement, per WP:DYK#Cited hook.
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I suggest converting the first two sections into level-2 headers (only 2 equal signs, instead of 3 equal signs), or adding a main header above the "Early Cultivation" section. Currently this usage of header violates the MOS. epicgenius (talk) 00:23, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good to go now. epicgenius (talk) 13:33, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
