Hang on

[edit]

"Hang on" please as existence of this page will result in an easy cross reference for a varied music listening audience that is derived from several different, active and prolific musicians each with multiple side projects.

I suspect the code "db-band" refers to "dead beat." This is a short sighted designation.Steve3849 06:25, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The template {{db-band}} refers to "delete because". And as it indiciates it is a reference to a band that does not assert notability to be included in an encyclopedia. RichMac (Talk) 08:54, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for assuming the meaning of this code {{db-band}}. Yet, the decision of deletion related to notability for the encyclopedia seems to me unfounded as several musicians involved with this project do have both notoriety and acclaim. Please reconsider my original statement above.Steve3849 09:17, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I have made an effort to make cross-linking more useful to interested users. PLEASE look at the "what links here" on the page in question.Steve3849 09:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can assert they have notoriety and acclaim, but this needs to be documented in reliable sources such as music magazines and cited in the article. ColourBurst 21:09, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking my assertion that several of the artists have "notoriety" would not need to be supported in this article because this is not an article about the musicians themselves, but a particular project to which they have contributed. Wouldn't reliable sources regarding those particular artists more appropriately be found by following the musician's wiki-links within this article?Steve3849 00:33, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If the only thing that makes this band notable is the notoriety of the artists in the band (number 5 under the general criteria in the guideline), then, yes, you'll need to establish that here with reliable sources. If you can't find sufficient independent sources with meaningful coverage of this band, then the article will have to be deleted or turned into a redirect. Fair use rationale for Image:Coalition2006.jpg

[edit]

Image:Coalition2006.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
