Clarify Versions when Citing Reviews

[edit]

Because the work exists in three versions that are dramaturgically, and perhaps in some ways musically, distinct, it would be very useful and more accurate to tie the critical response to the appropriate version.

As well, it would be very informative to specify clearly how the versions are different in terms of musical language. Penderecki's use of microtonal masses and glissandi moderated through his career. Since the versions are separated by three years and another three years, one might expect some alteration in how the composer presents the vocal lines and the orchestral role. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tgkohn (talkcontribs) 04:35, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dcubero: What exactly is the copyright status of these recording files? Where exactly have they come from? Can you please tell us? --Kleinzach 11:08, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From the file labels they appear to be from a Phillips Classics recording. As such, they are undoubtedly in copyright and can only be used if a fair use rationale is provided along with full details of the source and the copyright holder. Dcubero, under fair use:
"Music clips may be used to identify a musical style, group, or iconic piece of music when accompanied by appropriate sourced commentary and attributed to the copyright holder. Samples should generally not be longer than 30 seconds or 10% of the length of the original song, whichever is shorter."
(See Wikipedia:Music samples for more information). Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 12:24, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dcubero hasn't responded either here or on his talk page. The clips come to about 5 minutes in total. I've removed them. --Kleinzach 02:48, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've just created an article for Kazimierz Dejmek (translated from the Polish Wikipedia). It has an external link to the English bio of Dejmek referenced in this article. You might want to consider removing the reference here unless it is needed to verify a particular fact in the text. Voceditenore (talk) 12:59, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
