LGBT
[edit]Recently this film was added to Category:Lesbian-related films. If the film truly belongs in that cat, the article should state why. At the moment it mentions a relationship between Ayten and Lotte, but that would hardly mean the film is "lesbian-related". -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 14:27, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- The lesbian relationship is at the core of this movie. The relationship between the two women basically drives the whole plot forward. The film definitely belongs to the LGBT category. 66.65.129.159 (talk) 05:26, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Release Dates
[edit]This article for some reason has an unusually long list of Release dates. It is probably the longest there is, and in fact is the first I've even come across such a list on Wikipedia. It even has 3 dates for France (one for each festival), which is really unnecessary. I really think it should be trimmed down, or removed completely as there is already one in the film summary on the right hand side. Feudonym (talk) 02:53, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Plot last paragraph
[edit]I'm taking out the last bit in that paragraph. It's the bit that says "The open-ended conclusion leaves open the possibility that he would return to Istanbul to find Ayten staying in his own home - but also that some new chance event would again prevent his finding her. In addition, it may be inferred from the ending that Nejat's father committed suicide in his depression on his fishing trip, and that Nejat, frustrated by his inability to find Ayten, awaits a similar fate on the shore." There is no point speculating as to what had happened to Ali while on a fishing trip, or the rest of them after Nejat returns, is there? Yes, it's open-ended, and that's where it leaves. Speculation isn't really a part of the plot, it's up to the audience to interpret. Polarrrbear (talk) 16:14, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
