[edit]

I have disclosed a conflict of interest on my own userpage regarding this article. I was first invited to speak at an IAFOR conference in 2013 and had continued involvement with the organization until becoming a vice-president in 2017. I am not paid and have not been paid. This is voluntary service which I consider part of my contribution to the academic community as a university professor. I do not edit that often here on En, but have been an active editor for many years on Simple English Wikipedia since that is relevant to students I teach.

1. I would first like to request that this article be reverted to the 24 May 2017 version. Edits by users User:Triplecheck twice and User:JEElliott are defamatory, incorrect, and cite no sources. These accounts seem to have been created for the sole purpose of attacking the IAFOR article; they have made no other edits. This is vandalism. They may be socks of the same individual but I will leave that to the admins. I have also had defamatory comments posted to my Facebook page about IAFOR and unwelcome contact by email from an individual. This may be part of a coordinated defamatory campaign.

2. As a secondary issue, I would also like to address the primary sources template and the past editing history on this article. User User:Thaddeus Pope is currently paid IAFOR staff, and User:Wkristie is a former paid staff member. I have instructed all IAFOR staff that they are not to directly edit the article any further and they now understand why. They were not aware of the Wikipedia COI guidelines, but I expect that happens sometimes. The fact that they used real names that are/were verifiable from the IAFOR site at least shows good faith and a willingness to be transparent. There are additional non-primary sources available, so the next step would be to add those. I would be happy to work with a disinterested editor to update the article.

3. An "Other websites" section could be added. IAFOR recently hosted representatives from WEP at our Asian Conference on Technology in the Classroom.

I've implemented the first request, and with you mentioning the users in question, they are now aware of your mentioning. Please let me know when you have links for the representatives' websites. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 16:10, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

COI edit adding a reference

[edit]

I hope this is the kind of uncontroversial edit that a COI editor can add. It is the simple adding of a reference. If there is any problem, please revert this. Gotanda (talk) 07:30, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
