Based on Fantasia?

[edit]

Given how they went from goofy apprentice who magicks a broom to do his bidding, which backfires, to a guy who's recruited to save the world, I think "loosely based on" seems a more fitting description than "live action re-imagining". Connieboy (talk) 20:57, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. In fact, they stated that they did not TRY to recreate the Fantasia sequence, but they felt that since it was *loosely based* on the concept, they felt they should have the sequence. I feel it was well-implemented in the movie... but I'm no movie critic. Venku Tur'Mukan (talk) 18:38, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Losing streak"

[edit]

I'm not sure that "losing streak" as used in the Box Office section represents non-neutral phrasing. Thought I should check for consensus on that. Thanks! For reference, the full sentence -

"As of July 19, 2010, The Sorcerer's Apprentice has made $26,852,011 in the United States and $8,300,000 in other countries which totals up to $35,152,011 worldwide, which makes the movie a potential box office bomb and part of Jerry Bruckheimer's losing streak with Confessions of a Shopaholic and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time."

Where does "Secrets (OneRepublic Song)" fit in?

[edit]

Where does "Secrets (OneRepublic song)" fit in? is it part of the sound track? trivia? plot point? Bud0011 (talk) 04:49, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The song was featured in two scenes during the film, associated with Dave's science experiment with electricity. First in one short scene where Dave is listening to Becky DJ'ing on the radio. The second one was a bit later on when Dave was showing Becky the same science experiment inside his lab. Aidensdaddy2k9 (talk) 03:45, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was not part of the score/soundtrack release, so I do not think it belongs in the Track listing so I moved it to the end of the Music (Soundtrack/Score) section. -- 109.77.157.139 (talk) 13:50, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Production photos

[edit]

Lol @ the fourth production photo's tongue in cheek caption, but I feel it should be changed to something more encyclopaedic (read boring :P ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.31.94.12 (talk) 20:38, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In accordance with WP:Rule 47, I think we shouldn't remove it. -- JohnWBarber (talk) 21:27, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The current state of the "Popular References" section doesn't seem like it'd be "popular references." That's just a statement for a sequel. What's the definition of a popular reference anyway? A reference by some popular person or source, or references to popular culture such as Buzz Lightyear on the clock or Don Quixote in a deleted scene? No soundtrack available?

[edit]

I have noticed, you can only buy the MP... thingy.. on this Soundtrack. You can't get a disc. Is there an album with the tracks on it? I don't want the mp3 download or whatever. I also don't want a Youtube video of it. I would like the REAL soundtrack. Thanks. --Goldvane (talk) 04:30, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stolen headgear

[edit]

The hat shown in the after-credit's scene was not owned by Mr. Mouse, but his Master, Yensid. About a minute into the scene, Yensid places his hat on his table & goes upstairs for a nice little magic-nap. Mickey then takes it & makes a mess, which then Yensid comes down, fixes, and spanks Mickey with a broom. Just because old huge-head looked cute in it does not make it 'his', you know. :)

PS: You can blatantly see the cane in the hand of the shadow walking away from the scene as well, so we can safely say it's Horvath, not "a hand" taking the hat. Bubacxo (talk) 00:02, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
