I enjoyed discovering your web site! It brought back many memories of the 1960s, when I was in the Air Force, and a frequent visitor to eighteen Titan II sites that circled the city of Wichita, KS and McConnell AFB.

I was an electronics technician, assigned to a detachment at McConnell that had responsibility for maintaining some of the weather sensing equipment at each of the silos. We visited each site regularly, checking and calibrating wind and temperature systems in support of site operations.

An interesting facet of the silo weather equipment is that the temperature and wind systems located at the site were designed and deployed primarily in case there happened to be a fuel spill/leak. The liquid fuel used by the Titan II was (in part) very hazardous. The site's wind and temperature systems provided the crews data on downwind and vertical dispersion characteristics in case the fuel was released into the air. Each site was very close to farms, and some were near small Kansas towns. With the dispersion data, the Air Force had a chance to warn people in areas that might be affected by any dangerous levels of Titan II fuel.

Our trips to the Titan II sites were always a welcome break from the regular routine at the Weather Station on the base. We had favorite little small-town restaurants for lunch, and became very familiar with the very friendly people in the rural areas surrounding Wichita.

I don't think the logo should be present, at all. Your fair use claim says "The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of this article topic." and I don't think that's true. I would agree the Swoosh is the primary means of identifying Nike, Inc.. I do not believe that there's a significant number of people that would agree that the logo for the Titan Missile Museum is the primary way they imagine or recognize the property. That's what your fair-use rationale rests on. If you had found a public domain image I'd still argue the point but at least it would be an image that wasn't in danger of being deleted. Rather, that Titan II missile on display (the image currently in the infobox) is what the museum is about. It's very prominently displayed on site and I'd bet that image is found in most of the travel brochures across Arizona. Chris Troutman (talk) 01:16, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
